Godly menPosted : 30 Jan, 2010 11:56 AMHaha, well, that's a bit of a complicated question. Especially considering that there are quite a few different "fruits". I think the one's Paul describes are the most prominent. I could break them down, but I think they are pretty basic in how they relate to the Lord and self, but I think they can also be factored into relationships. After all, most plants don't fruit by themselves. |

Godly menPosted : 30 Jan, 2010 11:56 AMWell...hmm...I think men and women are pretty equal and we have the same spiritual requirements/expectations in God's eyes. In the garden of Eden I think we were even closer in equality, but because of sin, God saw that there needed to be an order of authority. I really don't want to dance around here trying not to step on anything...but seriously...men are stronger. Physically and emotionally stronger. Not better or smarter. Just....tougher. Men and women need each other because of their different strengths. So anyway...in our current sinful world...a godly man would be one that is a good selfless leader. One that uses his strength to be the first to take up a burden and the last to lay it down. Gives himself to the service of others, instead of using his strength to take and destroy. A godly woman would be one that is a good "healer". She doesn't need strength and can restore a persons happiness or take away a persons burden with the lightest touch or a soothing word. Needs to be selfless also, because she can destroy a persons happiness/life with that same light touch. In a fallen imperfect world, I think God noticed that women were at an unfair disadvantage to evil...without the same physical strength to fall back on. So God gave godly men the leadership role, "You love and protect her like she was your own body". We have to remember that sin was not in God's perfect plan for us. You take away sin and the differences between men and women mean nothing except a perfect partnership. And since we're talking about a perfect world...I think it'd be pretty boring if God had made both sexes exactly the same. The differences were to make life interesting and to compliment each other...not to place one in dominance over the other. |

Godly menPosted : 30 Jan, 2010 12:31 PMNope. Not very many. Fortunately we get a chance to learn to be ready through our lives...don't think anybody is born ready... |

Godly menPosted : 30 Jan, 2010 12:39 PMYeah, nobody's born ready. But I do think that God has a hand in the happenings of our lives that help us become more ready...sortof like our testimony. |

Godly menPosted : 30 Jan, 2010 12:52 PMI do NOT think that any two Christians who follow the word should be together. It's our nature to feel more strongly about some people than others, call it chemistry or whatever you like. It may be biological, or it may be God's way of telling us that two people share something, be it deeper than interests or feelings. |
