I will definitly answer this because this is a topic close to my heart.
Abortion should not even be allowed in America.
God created all living things, and as soon as you start growing a little one inside--that is a living thing. and if you need science for that: most women do not know until they're 1 1/2 mo pregnant.. after 3 weeks a baby has a steady heart beat.
And, if you become pregnant, and God willing that you can give birth to the child in any way, shape or form--that child is a gift from God. Everything that happens, God already has a plan..he uses everyone and everything to the fullest extent.
My sister got pregnant at the age of 17 and now has a beautiful 3 year old son and he has helped shape her into the woman she is today & used her son to lead her back to God.
I've been a Christian since I was 7 and was raised in a Christian home. I've always wrestled with the abortion issue. My opinion my not be popular on this forum, but I have to say that I am pro- choice.
I think if I became pregnant as the result of rape or incest or if my life were endangered, I would have an abortion. Yes, I believe that God has a plan for us. However, I dont believe that it is God's plan for someone to bring a child into the world via rape/incest. Furthermore, I dont believe it's God's will for a mother to knowingly die in order to bear fruit. Unfortunately, these things do happen, and I don't think it is "wrong" to terminate pregnancies under these circumstances. I know we all have to make sacrifices in life, but to bear your rapist child is just plain cruel, and I think God would understand.
Personally speaking, I 've been abstinent my whole life so I haven't been in a situation where I would contemplate having an abortion. And, I've been blessed with a pretty decent life-- I had a supportive family, went to good schools, never got into any trouble, etc. However, I have come across many people who haven't been so fortunate and have gotten pregnant. Some decided to terminate the pregnancy. I 've never thought that abortion should be used as a form of birth control. But, honestly, some of the situations these people faced made me question my belief. Bearing a child went far beyond an inconvenience in come of these cases.
So I'm a pro-choice Christian who hopes she never has made this type of decision. However, I think its good to have options, and I'm going leave it to God to judge.
When i see a newborn baby I would give my life to protect it. I can't imagine that same mother allowing that tiny baby to be literally torn apart, brutalized, have poison injected into it, simply because its inside her belly makes it ok!!

If you can't "dispose" of toddlers when they are a inconvenience, then you shouldn't ever dispose of precious infant life in the womb. Murder of the helpless is never ok, regardless of what politicians & media tell you.
Sex results in pregnancy. Be responsible for your actions, don't punish a child for it. I've taken classes, the rape/mother health risks cases barely even factor into the tiniest percent of abortions..
I appreciate how openminded and nonjudgemental you are. Not to mention, being so honest and taking the chance of being "persecuted" for your beliefs. That is very admirable and I applaud you for it. :applause:
To answer your question about rape and incest in regards to an abortion...
First, I really hate it that we even have to think about these terrible things at all. To be raped, would be (in my opinion) one the most absolutely horrifying experiences to have to deal with, much less to become pregnant from such a thing. My heart goes out to any woman that has that burden to bear.
However, from the experiences that I've had in life (and some would describe them as bad) I have learned that if God brings you to it, God will bring you through it. I'm not saying that I've always had or have the best faith or anything like that, but since I've gotten closer to God and looked back at the bad things that have happened to me, I can gather strength from them now.
What I'm trying to say is..God can bring good from anything!! Also, God answers prayers!!
If I were to get raped and a pregnancy resulted, I would not consider an abortion. If was not God's will for me to deliver that baby, perhaps a miscarriage would occur; it would not be for me to decide if it lived or died.
Women that have children later in life run a risk of having a child with Down's Syndrome. If that happens to be me someday, I would pray for my child's health everyday during my pregnancy. I would KNOW that God gave me the perfect child for me...if it was diagnosed with Down's, I would know it was His will for me to mother this child. Abortion would not be an option.
I hope this gives you another perspective, and I hope we hear more from you!! :yay:
