What are your thoughts on women with tattoos and piercings?

I'm inked, but rest assured I won't be offended/affected with your opinion. I know this isn't everyone's cup of tea, it's just my curiosity.

Stay blessed! ❤️

To be sure i am way outside your age group but...i have a tat myself so i am not casting stones here. I have seen some really beautiful tattoos over the years. Tattoos that were truly art. However. Women are the final creation of God and in my estimation are His greatest artwork. Drawing over a great work of art is a travesty. Or as one woman on the site put it "You don't put a bumper sticker on a Bently." Each person has to decide for themselves what they find attractive. However scripture does address getting tattooed even though many people choose to ignore what scripture says on this subject as well as so many others. i don't regret my tat as it is from before i was saved and it bridges the gap sometimes to witness to others but if i could go back in time and make a different decision i would. If you traced back in time tattoos have pagan and occult origins. There is more to be said but that should suffice. Whatever you do, do it as unto the Lord>

Old covenant law given to ancient Israel forbade tattoos.

But that particular law and a number of other laws are not applicable today—-except possibly for Orthodox Jews (but perhaps not in the original sense)

Tattoos are forbidden in the scriptures. The scriptures are still relevant today contrary to popular belief. The last person has no understanding of the ramifications of getting a tattoo. There is more .

So are you still sacrificing goats and sheep? How’s that going?

I think that everyone should get a Leviticus 19:28 tattoo and a Revelation 14:11 tattoo.

You are right - This isn't everybody's cup of tea.

We are God's work.

I think tattoos are graffiti on God's work and deface God's work.

I think those that get tattoos will more likely be okay with getting the Mark of the Beast.

I think tattoos are a turn off.

I tend to agree with your point of view W&T but the fact some old covenant law is no longer in force remains

Personally, I think injecting ink under one's skin and adding unnecessary extra holes to the body is a mistake and a potential health risk.

Other things being equal, I would consider tattoos and piercings a negative thing in a person (male or female).

My guess is that if someone asked Jesus about spending time and money on tattoos and piercings, he would urge them to spend the money on something else, maybe aid for the poor. But he wouldn't condemn those that got them. Some well intentioned (but misguided in my opinion) persons even get tattoos of Jesus or a cross symbolize their Christian faith.

I think there's a psychological aspect to those who have more than a passing interest in body modification to include, chest augmentation, backside expansions, obsessions with hair, makeup and fashion just to name a few.

I also think part of the reason for obsessions is life has become far to easy which allows the mind to wander into obsessive types of behaviors rather than having to think about working on your next meal or keeping a roof over one's head.
