How many men on this group do you think are genuine?

I think there's a few but not many myself. Personally I think it's a tough one as so many of the men on here at first will appear genuine and then they come up with what they really want once they think you have let your guard down. I find sometimes you can tell its coming and others you are less aware until it hits you. I am not specifically looking for a man to date myself yet, not the reason I signed up to this, but I can imagine it's frustrating for all who are, so it's a good question but a tough one.

It is quite hard to tell from a profile on CDFF whether the person is genuine or not. On Facebook, it is much easier. You look at a person's profile picture. You look at their photos, friends, the things they like, the groups they are part of, the kind of music they listen to, and the posts they write, and you can tell a lot about that person. Sometimes you can tell right away who is fake and who is genuine. But on this website, it is hard to tell. It would be a good idea to link each profile on CDFF to a Facebook profile, so when you view someone's profile, you could click on their Facebook page and see what things they post. If you can tell a person is genuine on Facebook when you see one.

I wanted to edit that last sentence I wrote. Anyway, that's another thing they should implement on here. Users should be able to edit their messages. :P

I judge how serious someone is by their participation in the forums, how fleshed out their profiles are, etc... basically someone that does the required effort and is corageous enough to properly put themselves out there... also the more complex a facade the easier the scammer falls out of character in proper conversation.

I'm not sure what percentage of the men on this website are truthful. But about half of the women who have messaged me have since been banned as spammers. Perhaps the percentage is similar for men?

Although I almost always reply to messages I receive on Christian Dating for Free, I never give out my phone number, e-mail address, etc. Sticking to messaging on the site with new friends helps one avoid being taken in by spammers.

And, though I am happy being single (which I state on my profile), and may never develop a relationship that leads to marriage, I do feel blessed to have made a few casual Christian friends on this site.

My guess is that persons who fill out their profile fairly completely, and seek to build a relationship slowly by exchanging messages on the site are probably less likely to be spammers than those with limited profile information who immediately want you to exchange private email addresses or phone numbers.

I hope this information helps you. And I pray for God's perfect will for you.

What is Truth ?hmm I feel a Pilate episode coming.. perhaps the question is can I trust ? from the responses I have read I get the impression that jumping through hoops to be validated is the standard line, doesn't leave much for trust but then we have to be careful so as not to open the wrong doors, linking profiles with other platforms is dangerous as trolling is perhaps the most intrusive form of a personal attack.

I approach it from the gut instinct perspective, I either feel comfortable or not, if not bye bye, the reality is you can never truly know someone and it's a little too much too ask for truth 247, we all hide our feelings and thoughts and when the mouth-gate is open all sorts of stuff comes out.

The question leaves one thing out, how do women percieve truth in relationships with men, a classic line would be "does my bum look big in this ?"," Yes !", men don't do certain lies because it's not in their inbuilt thought processes whereas a woman would look on that line with horror, we men cannot accomodate that which we do not know or are practised at and as such girl-speak is a mystery to most men as that kind of stuff is boring, as much as the average woman finds man-speak on sports etc etc such a bore, thankfully those differences are what make us strong, our differences are our common strength, but if we expect the opposite sex to fit in with our ways and thoughts we will be sorely disappointed.

ps

just too be totally honest I am totally terrible where it comes to housework, I'd rather play with my man toys, hammer chisel ruler technical stuff etc etc, I don't apologise because that is how I am wired, many decades of nurture have not changed my nature......

Gosh isn't honesty a bore !

It's honestly hard to tell. That is why I ask very pointed questions that inevitably get a reaction one way or the other. Pointed questions such as: "When did you repent and give your life to Jesus?" Then they have no way out but to admit whether or not they truly had a conversion to Christ. Other views that are important to know I also ask pointed questions about if they don't beat me to it first.

no one likes the truth, I try to be truthful at all times and I get trouble for it, but then there are quite a few scriptures that deal with this, we can be overzealous, we can be judgemental we can be those that will not stand in the presence of sin, Jesus will spit us out.... the call for the death of the adulteress was true and correct, it was the law wasn't it ? hmm didn't turn out that way... this is what I have learnt, when it really matters you will feel and experience the empowerment of the holy spirit to speak and act when it is God's express will to speak and act, you may even experience anger that surpasses your own ability to feel or express that anger, that's why it says " a righteous man judges all thing but is judged by none", who is our righteousness ? who empowers us ? who causes us to rise and act ? when we are acting in accordance to his will nothing is hidden and nothing is beyond us, for everything else we have our knowledge of his word and common sense, do not be overly judgemental, you might find yourself measured with the same rod, this is hard won experience talking... love truly does cover a multitude of sins, be slow to judge when you are walking in your own strength but quick to act when you are in his...
