Question why is it that when a woman is heavy, they are considered lazy or just don't care about their looks? After six children and a very unhealthy lifestyle, I've decided to change all that and lead a life that exemplifies taking care of God's temple. However still get the "I am looking for a more athletic or healthier person".....please could probably out run and bench press more than some guys.

Don't bother. you wouldn't want this kind of guy anyway. Be patient, the right one is out there, and God bless

Simple question,

Are you beautiful? or do you Make yourself beautiful?

Do make myself beatufiul? If you are asking if hours are spent getting ready for the day......I would say nope....would rather work on the inside so that the Light of my Savior would shine more brightly. My beauty comes from the inside out....

Well, I'm also a BBW and if I can't be happy with myself how in the world can I make someone else happy...I also live a healthy lifestyle and am the opposite of lazy. The only thing to be said is that the person missing out on me is the one "losing"! God delivered us all in various packages...some tall, some short, some thin, some heavy, some hairy, some bald .... and the list goes on and on and on....to infinity and beyond! Be true to yourself. If you change for someone it won't last. Change for yourself if you choose if that makes you happy. I would rather be a heavy healthy than a skinny sickly. If we take the time to see the person riding around in the flesh, we just might be surprised at the treasure waiting there....Reminds me of a story about a pearl...Oh...better save that for another post...........lol....:)) Robin

Dear Sister Wanda,

I believe everyone has "preferences" as to whom they believe will be a good match. If someone like myself who has been an athlete most of his life and works out and eats right, then it is more common place for those like myself to want a mate who is also in the same lifestyle and looks like they have been. Being overweight is not a deal breaker with some men and even though I have certain preferences, a woman who is a little overweight is not a deal breaker unless she is morbidly obese. Why? Because if she is a beautiful person on the inside, weight is just something that can come off if a person is dedicated to doing so.I have seen woman who because of their overweight, their face was distorted. Once they lost the weight, a new and more beautiful woman emerged. I am an Insurance agent and I deal in the Life and Health field. I understand the risk factors because of weight just like the risk factors of those who smoke, which is a deal breaker for me. If a woman is morbidly obese then there can be health issues and then there is the question as to why did that person allow themselves to get to that point to begin with. The fact of the matter is that a person can lose weight if they are determined and dedicated enough to do so. I have seen many people lose a great deal of weight. I noticed a woman for about a year come into the gym, was consistent to lose weight and get in great shape. She was very overweight. I one day went up to her and told her that I have been noticing her for the past year and wanted to tell her that I was impressed with her dedication and determination and that it paid off. She was greatly appreciative of that! Now she has a great figure and turns heads when she walks by. We became friends.

Anyone can lose weight. The question is this. Are you dedicated and determined to be the best you can be? After all do we not glorify God in all that we do?

Blessings!

Walter

Strawberi is right on, (I know her outside of this website) the value in the person, in the relationship is not measured in pounds. And you are right, beauty is inside out. That's what I was getting after. I am not the best looking guy but I sure got a sweet beautiful girl, and I am happy she sees me for the inside too.

Hi Walter,

Understand fully what you are saying, however will agree to disagree as we are all in different parts of our journey....for instance my journey on say weight loss has just begun....never was an issue until now. I veiw myself as a beautiful woman who just never noticed until now. Too busy with ex, kids, homeschooling, and other things....but now having search the scriptures understand that I need to keep myself healthy....does it mean that I have arrived? No just starting the journey.....just as I wouldn't shun someone who had just started their journey with Christ I just think neither should we be looked on with distain.

You know, when it comes right down to it, we all have flaws. To some it is weight, others hair loss, some warts...Whatever the flaw, the devil likes to magify until we lose sight of the Lord and focus more on the problem instead of the grace and mercy that surrounds us! I lost myself in living for my husband. I homeschooled my daughter, worked two jobs, (60 hrs ++ a week) and supported my husband and family through his extended illness and death. True blue. But...in the midst of all of that, I somehow lost myself. I believe that if you can find yourself, heavy, bald or warty....then...love will find you. There are alot of people out there who exercise, eat right, but still have a weight problem. I do water aerobics at the gym 3-5 times a week, eat right, and teach kindergarten...Do I have much time to sit on my bottom.....NO! Am I heavy...Yes! Am I healthy? Yes! Don't be discouraged in who or what you are in Christ. My husband used to call me his Proverbs 31 woman. What better compliment than that...? Keep your face upward and God will guide you. Take time to know who and what you are in yourself and Christ and everything else will fall into place.!! :)) Robin

Exactly Strawberri....haven't arrived but have definitely begun the journey....not because mankind or society has told me I need to ....but simply because I've chosen to turn that over to God. I don't know that I will ever be the perfect size or weight inside or out.....but know I am not turning back.
