What do guys think?
Posted : 26 Oct, 2011 01:39 AM

How do you look at a girl who's not from your own country or race? I mean, does it bother you or something?

What's your honest opinion about Asian girls for example...or if you're familiar, about Filipinas in particular.

I just want to know.

Thanks!

Aimee

It doesn't bother me one bit. If i had the chance i'd go visit more countries. So far outside the U.S. i've only been to Japan for a few years, and i honestly didn't want to come back with the exception of family . I got no issues with Asian people or any other race, i know God made us exactly the way he intended :peace:

Thanks for responding.. i don't mean for this to sound so personal by the way.. i just want to know if there are stereotypes even in God's Kingdom. :)

There are a lot of misconceptions about Asian women, especially with my countrymen...so I just wanted to cut to the chase and ask foreign fellas themselves... :)

cheers!

I likely wouldn't look at her any differently from any other woman. Ultimately it's what is on the inside that counts. The only thing is that it's my understanding that they are only interested in dating asian men. So it isn't something I've put a lot of thought into.

Dear Aimee,

I know you posted this awhile ago...sorry. :) I'm not sure of the stereotypes you are referring too..however I will share with you that through this site I have found an AMAZING woman....she is from the Phillippines and she is so wonderful to me...and she is so smart!!...sorry..don't mean to brag on my girlfriend. :) I'm really excited because in only 72 days I will landing in Manila to visit with her for a week! I guess this probably didn't answer your question except for me to say that I obviously have no issues in dating a Filipina and in fact...I'm hoping to marry my beautiful angel next year. :) So have faith and keep believing.

Peacenic yep, that, indeed, is an issue. But just so you know? it's the same for us! lol

Rainbowian thanks for your response. I just hope that other people have the same perception as you. :)

Storm that's really great! I'm happy for you. Just so you know? You're a very blessed man! Filipinas are very caring and loving..so stay happy when you get married, okay? treat her right and always let Christ be the center of your relationships. There are bound to be differences in habits, cultures, etc. but if you two are committed to make your marriage work, then those can easily be broken down.. :)

Cheers everyone!

If you want me to be honest, I see a sea of Filipino women on here. I also see a lot of women on here from the Ukraine. I also know that in some societies, the living conditions are bad, with it being worse for the women. I've also heard that some people encourage the women (in whatever part of the world where they are living in very bad conditions) to try to marry an American because then they would get to live in America and have a much better life. I believe a lot of the Filipino women on here are here for that reason, regardless of how amazing their personalities might be. If that's not it, then why aren't they on a Filipino Christian dating site? Why seek out a generally American website when they might have closer options on a Filipino site? I can understand a few women coming here, but it seems that next to Americans, the Filipinos are a strong second, which doesn't make sense. Where are the people from the rest of Europe? Where are the people from Australia? Where are the people from India? I hardly see them on, and so this leads me to believe that there is a problem in the the Filipino's country that is leading the women to seek getting out of it to go somewhere better.

This doesn't mean that every Filipino on here is on here for the wrong reasons. God could use this website to have his ideal match of an American man and the right Filipino woman happen. But at the same time, I think a lot of men could get themselves into trouble if they jump too quickly into a relationship and the Filipino woman is too nice to them because she wants to get out of the country and so the relationship could end badly later on when the truth comes out that it wasn't as good of a match as people thought.

I'm not looking for a relationship, so I don't have to worry too much about the issue. But if I was looking for a relationship, I would be incredibly cautious about any Filipino woman who showed an interest in me, because the tendency might be there for the woman to laugh a little more than usual and to act like I'm the best thing in the world, simply because she knows getting into America would be better than staying in her country/situation. It doesn't mean I would necessarily outright deny her the chance though. And I've been to another country and have seen desparate people attempting to take desparate measures, so I know how it can affect people. I don't take offense at Filipino women, and I'm not prejudice against them; I'm just taking a realistic caution. It doesn't mean you aren't real people. It doesn't mean you couldn't make good friends. It simply means that it seems something is going on in the Philippines and so I need to have my guard up as a safety precaution.

(And if it's supposed to be written Filipina women, I apologise, as I don't know your language).

Thanks for your honesty. Actually, the things you stated here are the exact reasons why I want to know how other people thinks about my people. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who just wants to marry a foreigner just to get a green card. Its the sad truth. And it pains my heart to see my people acting so desperate. Yes, there are problems here in my country (as I know there are in othe countries, too) but its nothing God cant solve. But you know what? I blame their desperation to the foreigners who colonized our country and left us with that colonial mentality. Its actually something very difficult to overcome. Which is such a pity because my country is a rich country... and a beautiful place.

I love my country and though I may find foreign men more attractive than Filipino men, Id still pick my country over everything else. (But of course it all depends on where God leads me.)

Anyway..thanks again for respondingand for being very honest. Cheeries!

And I don't hold the situation in the Philippines against you. And I apologise for any hand America may have had in exploiting your country. If only people knew half the history of what their ancestors did to other people, perhaps they would be a lot more compassionate toward other people groups. But you're right, all of mankind has to work together now and work with God to clean up the mess mankind has made in the world. America is in a bad spot too. Last I heard, we were $14 trillion dollars in debt as a nation. Imo, America's credit card has to go bad at some point, and when it does, we might face another time in our country like the Great Depression. So yea, it is everyone just simply trying to do the best they can in this world with the resources that God allows them to get.

Sorry Gourd, I tried not to sound so harsh and definite...but yeah, your country was one of them... lol but...forgive and forget, right?

Yes, it's just everybody trying to get by with what God has given them. I just wish that those with the resources would know how to be better stewards of the things God has lent them... :)
