I'd say that anyone who is against Christianity, bringing our children up as such, or claims to be Christian but their lifestyle is so obviously not rooted in Christ. Dishonesty Materialism Holding Fast to> False & Anti-faith Bible teachings Pettiness Fearfulness Flakiness, unreliability Sarcasm and disrespect And last but not least playing games and/or making me wait more than a week or so before they give me their phone number Post Reply

I've found most all people are teachable to a degree - you just need the right balance of carrot/stick that makes them sit up and take notice, plus a little (or a boat load) of patience... Post Reply

Posted : 13 Oct, 2011 06:37 PM dkj - I think were may be talking about different things But a lot of ACOAs - aka "Alanons" seem to be so deeply stuck in there stuff (highly carnal stuff) that it is incredibly difficult to teach them anything. Its the way that they protect themselves from everything including people who could really help them. They also tend to have a tendancy to be caretakers and or people fixers. Highly codependent. Their self esteme is always linked to other people one way or another - and often if not usually in a rather unhealthy way. It's about control - which comes from deep-seated insecurities and being raised in an alcoholic home. Very sad situation. But with God all things are possible. Post Reply
