I'll go for weeks and weeks with only a couple views, no messages, and no winks. Then overnight it changes. I'll have up to 10 views per day, at least one or two messages per day, and a couple winks per day. Unfortunately, most of those are from people outside the country or from people who are very obviously not a good match for me. After a week or so of that, my profile is "abandoned" again. I don't know why this seems to happen! I've wondered if my profile was showing up on the main page or something! I've also wondered if it has to do with new pictures, as the increased communication sometimes (not always) happens shortly after uploading a new photo. Do you all find that your profiles seem to go through cycles like that? Post Reply

Posted : 30 Jun, 2011 02:59 PM @OP: I don't know how feasible it is, but certainly winks and a vague or generic message could be auto-generated by software linked to a few fake accounts. The purpose would be to encourage the target to communicate off-CDFF where it cannot be moderated, and then attempt some type of scam (usually financial regarding intended visits). You can usually tell by the way the message is worded, though of course not with winks! As ever, stay vigilant and if it doesn't 'seem' right then flag it up with someone. Post Reply

There is a lot of distance between us, geographically and age-wise. And he also got it right that I'm not exactly available at the moment...I'm not "in a relationship" yet, but I'm putting a hold on exploring new dating possibilities until a particular situation has been resolved one way or another. @Dkj, yeah, some of these are definitely scams! And that generates people creating profiles, searching, and contacting. Though you are right --- almost all of it is from overseas folks. Post Reply

I get a view here and there and few and far in between winks even fewer and farther in between and messages the rarest of all. I've tried to initiate conversations frequently at first but became burnt out at spending so much time writing messages that were relevant to a person's profile only to get no response. Every once in a while I will find a profile that I find interesting and will write a message to comment on their profile or offer encouragement but I no longer expect or hope for anything anymore when it comes to responses Post Reply
