I know there was a lot of feedback about Obama, so let's talk about Ol' Dubya.

Much of the mess we're in right now is because of His sloppy politics and "governing", right?

What has Obama done that was so much worse than anything George W. Bush did? Just wondering why certain people dislike Obama the way they do.

If you could have George back again, would you? I know I wouldn't want him back in office. NO WAY, NO HOW!

I guess it comes down to the democrat/republican thing, and well...for many still....RACE. Yup, I said it. Truth hurts.

God bless y'all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:prayingf:

Come on, HolyGhostGirl. Insisting that I dislike Obama because of his race is just juvenile. He despises the private sector and instead of encouraging private sector growth to get us out of the recession, has tried to get it done with ludicrous levels of government spending. Like I said in my other post, under Obama, the US reached its debt ceiling this week. In 19 months, Obama added more to the national debt than all previous Presidents combined. Obama's solution to hitting our debt ceiling? He's trying to get it raised. Every hour of every day in 2011, we're spending $188 billion that we don't have. I don't know about you, but in general, I try to avoid spending money I don't have. Why should we high five Obama for doing it?

Not only is Obama spending ridiculous amounts of money, but he has no intention of making a significant cutback. His solution is to raise taxes. He's spent so much money though, that even if he took every penny from the people who make over $100,000/year, he still wouldn't have enough to cover the deficit. He talks so much about making sure the "rich" pay their "fair share" of taxes, yet over half the country doesn't pay a penny of income tax. How is it that it's fair for only half the country to pay for everybody else?

More importantly, time and time again, lower taxes increase tax revenues. Businesses don't have to stay open. They don't have to stay in America either. If the government puts policies in place that don't punish achievement and business expansion, the economy will grow faster and stronger than stimulus spending could ever hope to achieve.

Finally, this mess that we're in didn't start with Bush at all. It started back in the 90s when Democrats got upset that banks weren't lending money to people who were high risks of not paying it back, so they put a legislative gun to their heads and basically forced them to relax their lending standards. There isn't a dog in this fight that's blameless.

Do I agree with everything Bush did? Of course not. I'm not a fan of the implementation of No Child Left Behind, don't like a lot of the Patriot Act, and think he spent way too much money as well. But don't think for a second that the majority of people's disagreements with Obama are over race.

As a non-American and not living in the USA, I can say that Obama seems less arrogant to us than Bush did. Of course, we don't live with his policies and we were all fooled by the smooth-talking Mr Blair who (to be fair) did some good but overall made it worse (in my humble and politically-biased opinion).

I think Tulip did a great job summarizing a lot of the economic issues with President Obama.

We should not forget that Obama also supports the murdering of unborn babies at the mere whim of the "mother" including providing our taxpayer dollars to organizations that perform those procedures -- absolutely unforgivable!

Also he supports perverting God's scared institution of marriage through legalizing homosexual marriage.

Today he stabbed our ally Israel in the back by coming out in support of the terrorists in "Palestine."

I could list many more instances but I think I have made my point. Biblically I don't see how any true Christian can support a politician with views such as Obama and not compromise the worldview by which they claim to live.

One thing everyone forgets is that neither Bush or Obama created the economic mess. The policies of the Clinton administration, plus both corporate and public greed, is what caused are economy to collapse. When the Clinton era lowered the standards for people to gain credit, and forced banks to extend loans to high risk people, who a few years later would go into bankrupt, that set up the ground works for the collapse of our economy. Big businesses took their factories, call centers, and many other major components of their businesses and took them over seas. People went into debt over things they should have purchased. Some people went into billions of debt, just to "keep up with the Jones." Then there was also weather that played key to gas, food, etc costs increasing.

As for the war, Bush did not start the war with Iraq. Saddam already had problems with the U.S. for a few decades, it just did not become as prominent until the 90's when the first Bush took office. Saddam was a very corrupt man. While I do believe we went into Iraq for the wrong reasons, Saddam need to be removed from his office.

Also, Bush did not cause the Al-Quida to take over 4 airplanes, 2 that landed in the Trade centers, one at the Pentagon, and the last in a field. Al-Quida decided that. The fact is, the U.S. became like Germany, when they went and attacked Iraq, based upon informants, that Iraq had WMD and was hiding Bin Laden. And yes, I agree Bush did appear often as being arrogant.

However, Obama, has come across as arrogant himself. Right before the election, just after Congress had passed the trillion dollar deficit incentive, Obama declared he would allow taxes to increase. (Where have I heard that before?) Honestly, he expected the American people to buy that the belief that he would not allow taxes to increase. So where was all the money for this trillion dollar incentively suppose to come from? Then there is the issue of the health-care reform. Yes, our country indeed needs health care reform, but to not listen to the public, not do a study on social health care systems in other countries, to just blindly assume everyone wants what the president wants is arrogant. And I think thats what the voters told the president when many of the democrats lost their positions in congress.

Holy Ghost Girl, to say someone does not support Obama because they are racist is both naive and arrogant. I do not support Obama, because he does not support my values. I do not support abortion. I do not support gay rights. One of the few things I do support him on is that we do need to look at alternative means of energy. But just because I support him in one thing, does not mean I overlook everything else.

Do I think he's the Anti-Christ? No. Do I think he was born in the U.S.? Until such time it is proven differently, yes.

And I will end this by saying, that once again, Obama was voted in by our Nation. And as such, I will respect him in his position, unless he chooses to do something that violate God's authority.

What I meant by the U.S. became like Germany, is that during WWI, Germany took it's time about punishing the Serbs. After being attacked, the U.S. delayed invading Iraq. And regardless of whether we should have attacked them or not, the world turned on us, just a few months after we ourselves had been attacked by Al-Quida. However, if we had gone into Afghanistan or Iraq immediately, we would most likely have been turned against even faster, because we would have been blindly attacking. Either way was a no win situation.

Ditto most of what Tulip, IaoKim, and Catty said.

Also, I have NOTHING against President Obama because his skin is darker than mine. I don't care how much pigment someone's skin has, if they are capable of doing the job they are elected to do. I DO, however, have something against his moral views and his economic strategies. (If they can even be called "strategies.")

It would seem that we have another African American on the ballot in the upcoming primaries. At the moment, I wouldn't hesitate to vote for Herman Cain. True, I may change my mind as I research him and the other candidates in the coming months, but for now he seems pretty solid. (Yet somehow I think what I just said will be twisted into "racism".)

Oh, and like I said on the other topic, President Obama is the current president of the United States of America, and I will respect him as such.

I initially had reservations about Obama because he started his political career in one of the most politically corrupt cities in the United States. In Chicago the dead rise on election day.

I disagreed with a lot of Bush's policies but Obamas are even worse when he isn't continuing the same things. He can't even keep a promise that he's going to close Gitmo. All he has to do for that is to tell the military leaders to build a new camp and move the detainees there. His DHS secretary is a bit of a joke. He has allowed the ATF to smuggle guns to Mexico which have then been used to kill federal agents (project gunwalker). He has vastly increased the national debt. He is probably engaged in an illegal war for oil. (Regardless of opinion, the US led invasion of Iraq was not illegal. Bush had Congressional approval to wage it, and the US constitution says that Congress has the power to declare war, and it does not outline the form that such a declaration is to take. Congress couched it as a "resolution authorizing the use of military force" or some such. But it amounted to a declaration of war.) If anyone is interested, look up how many European countries have oil interests in Libya. Instability disrupts the flow of oil to the Europeans. In Libya, he is probably close to violating the War Powers Act. Republicans in Congress are opposing the military intervention in Libya with Obama's own words.

The biggest gripe I have with Bush is that stupid stimulus right at the end of his term.

I am soooooo tired of non-white Americans playing the race card every time a white person disagrees with them in any way. It's stupid. Sure, there are some bigots who look down on others because of race and there are stereotypes that exist but I think most Americans look at each other and judge quality on content of character. Besides that, I could come up with a number of ways that when someone points a finger at someone to call them racist, they have 3 more pointing back.

Obama is clearly a very smart man and I think he is probably a quality, respectable person. His decisions and leadership I find to be lacking. Personally, taxes going up or down doesn't bother me as much as the whole idea of always pushing to tax the rich. Sure they make more but always asking them to pay more when those of us at the lower end of the totem pole pay squat is just not fair. Equal share should mean equal burden. Also, the idea of continuously spending money we don't have is just asinine. Somehow he seems to think that giving away our wallet but keeping so spare change in our pocket will be good enough.

I also want to say before I submit this that I believe Bush did some pretty dumb things. Most presidents do something the public doesn't like at some point. Along with that, I don't think the president is 100% to blame for what people get down on him about...a large portion of it is spill over from dissatisfaction with congress as well.
