Fitness Challenge Week 1

This weeks goal in the fitness challenge is to drink 8 8oz glasses of water per day and walk the equivalent of 1 block for 4 times this week.



Over time we will increase the fitness challenges.

Thanks for starting. If I might add just a couple of thoughts...

1. Check in - provides some accountability and ensures we are taking care of each other

2. Ask any and all questions. Provide answers. We are all here to get healthy together.

3. Provide a positive, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment to facilitate learning and growing together.

Rode bicycle 3 miles

Drank 1 water and 4 herbal teas

um good question

i googled it and it's somewhere between 1/16 to 1/18 of a mile. So if you walk somewhere around that, you will be doing good.

Maybe you could walk "minutes" ?

I think a brisk walk is 4-5 miles a hour....I think?

So a 15 minute brisk walk would be about a mile.

You must have longer legs than I do, Two! I usually make about 3-4 miles in an hour.

Today I walked 3 miles, and drank more than the required amount of water, so I'm good!

One block is 1/16 of a mile? I did not know that.

Ok, this is starting out easy because I already do much more than that, but that's ok, I'm still in! Drank the water and did not walk, but I did two hours of weed pulling in the yard.

Two -- depending on how fast you walk, 15 minutes could be a mile to a mile and a quarter. At your rate I am guessing you walked a mile and a quarter.

Walking is the easy part for me-- eight glasses of water seems like a lot - but I'm up for the challenge and will try.

Okay, I'm in, will drink my water and attempt to walk in the cold. But the minute my voluptuousness starts to be comprimised, I'm outta here....:laugh:. Kidding.
