"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39
"I have told you these things, so in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take your heart! I have overcomed the world." (John 16:33)
"So when you, a mere human, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God's judgment?" (Romans, 2:3)
"8 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. 10 We always carry around in our body the death of the Lord Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body."
(2 Corinthians 4:8-10)
"10 That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong." (2 Corinthians 12:10):glow:
"...if you have faith as small as a mustard seed....nothing will be impossible for you."
This gives me comfort because so many times I have doubts, and confusion, and worry my faith is just not as strong as it should be. But knowing that God still excepts me, even with faith that is small really makes me feel better, and not loose hope. :applause:
I don't use the Message version all the time but I like the way it phrases some passages like this one:
Proverbs 27:1 "Don't brashly announce what you're going to do tomorrow; you don't know the first thing about tomorrow." (The Message)
Helps me remember not to put tomorrow in a box and expect nothing unusual or extraordinary to happen because we do not know what tomorrow will bring. God is so much bigger than our expectations of tomorrow!
