I'm going to be 19 in a week.

...I'm going to be 19 in a week.

I'm GOING to BE 19 in a week?!?!

I'm still trying to figure out who I am, and I'm only shy of 20!?

This is craziness.

I'm anxious. Is that normal at 19?

I'm restless. Is that normal at 19?

I'm impatient. Is THAT normal at 19?

I'm ready, my heart is ready, God knows my heart is ready.

So why is nothing coming my way?

Why is nothing spectacular happening?

Where's the blessing in disguise?

Maybe I'm complaining.

Maybe I'm whining.

Or maybe...just maybe.

I don't need to worry about anything like that.

Because, shoot.

I'm only going to be 19 in a week.

I think that what you're feeling is normal... and that you shouldn't worry... and that you shouldn't wait for something spectacular to happen... and that you probably already ARE blessed =)

I think that worry robs us of our peace of mind, that waiting for something spectacular breeds discontent, and that failing to see the blessings in front us leads to insecurity and fear. Those are all things to pull us away from God, and all traps that I've fallen into. I am 31 and can tell you that if I could go back and do some things differently, that those 3 things would be near the top of the list.

Hey, I didn't know who I was until I was 21...so...you've got time. Want to know the secret? Might not be for everyone...but I got so low and destroyed so much of myself that the only stuff left standing was "who I am". Makes it easy when they're the only things that you can see on your "character horizon". It'd be cool if you could skip breaking yourself down...but whatever you do, find those concrete things that are the foundation of "you", then you can start removing/building on them(depending on whether or not it's good stuff), and hopefully you can use Our Example's character as building material. Or...even if you can't find who you are...you could just try to be like Jesus. That would work in a pinch:laugh:.

You're completely normal there Jumpshigh, and if I may say so; you are a beautiful woman. Just hold God in your heart and your eyes on Him and there'll be a guy who ISN'T intimidated by you and your fire, and you'll fall in love with him and go off and get married and live a happy life :p

Patience is a virtue that God tests us all on :)

Get a few more years of college under your belt and you'll be surprised how much you change and mature.
