Some things I recently realized that will make you free:

If you're angry, you need to face your underlying fear.

If you're bitter, you need to forgive.

Recenly I was feeling particularly bitter, and the more I dwelled on it the more it seemed to be going nowhere and getting worse. In the spirit of 'if you keep on doing what you've always done you're going to keep on getting what you always got' I tried another alternative and found myself forgiving. What's more it was working better than I could have ever imagined. What I found was it's like using God's credit card to pay off debt others put on you. I also remembered what was said in Forgiving Dr. Mengele and the woman's (her name escapes me) attitude and sense of freedom. If you are able to I recommend watching it.

On anger, it was Dr. Laura who said 'anger is really fear' and the underlying causes are adandonment, betrayal in the past, etc.

That's from Ephesians 4:31. We as "Christians" should forgive as our father for gave us. Hence Jesus wiping our sins away.
