Cooking from guys (and ladies too!!)

I'm starting this for Nyanda who asked that a guy start a cooking post...so here it goes. (This post is dedicate to Nyanda, haha)

I have three meals that I feel I have conquered. The three meals I love cooking and make really well is...

1. My fried chicken

I just simply take chicken tenders and dip them in egg, and a flour mixture with "secret" spices, haha, and then I fry them in a frying pan with vegetable oil.

2. Taco Salad

For this I just simply cook up sound ground beef, I make sure its ground up really fine, and the seasoning and then set out chopped tomoatoes, lettuce, chips, salsa, and cheese. This allows them to make then personalize their own taco salad.

3. Finally, bacon cheeseburgers.

of course for me the key is to make sure that the bacon is crispy. I add some seasoning to the meat while its cooking. My dad has always cooked them with A-1 sauce. When I worked in a restuarant some guy always wanted his meat cooked with coke~cola to add flavor.

(extra note= I make a pretty good sugar cream cake/butter cream cake and sugar cream pies)

Well guys, what other things to you guys enjoy cooking?? Ladies??

I only really like to cook if I have someone to cook for. Doesn't have to be a guy. Friends and family definitely count! If it's just me, I usually get lazy and just make a sandwich or soup. :)

I'm an uncontrollable baker, though. I made a really great neon rainbow cake for my birthday last month. :D

I live in a tourist destination town in Colorado. My first jobs here were working in the resturants. I put in my profile that I don't like to brag but I can cook just about anything.

I can hear a New York Strip when its mid rare while torchin the tops of my creme brulee's and tellin the new guy how to build the shrimp pesto entree. If you need a recipe just ask, I've got one or can find it.

Heres an easy one though: French Dips

1 pack of Hogie rolls

2 lbs. of fresh sliced roast beef from the deli

1 lb. of your choice of white cheese (swiss, pepper jack, provolone, ect.)

1 little pack of au jus mix (you can find them on the shelf with all the little packs of gravy mix and taco seasoning and such or you can make real au jus and bake the marrow out of beef bones and then boil them for 3 days with some onions and select spices like rosemary and fresh garlic)

Sliced Jalapenos are optional

Have your au jus ready on the stove.

Build a sandwich in the hogie rolls (don't be chintzy on the cheese and meat) like you would a hot dog. You know how the rolls are only cut down one side.

You might have to get creative to get them to stand up right so the cheese is on top.

After that put them in the oven , top rack, high heat.

Keep a close eye on them because they will burn up in a second. If the heat is too low the bread gets hard and the meat dries out.

I ain't kiddin watch em cause they will burn.

Just melt the cheese untill they look scrumptious.

Then cut them in half and dip em.

Mmmmm.........

Next time you're grilling up some hamburgers, or steaks, pre fry some peppers and onions, maybe even go out and get yourself some lunch meat. for steak: right before you grill it, cut a pocket into it that goes to the middle of the steak. stuff the peppers and onions in there. for the burgers, put the lunchmeat in the center when you form the patties. phenominal taste and best of luck. Thanks storm!
