We live about 800 miles apart and neither of us is in a position to move that far away, so dating was never a viable option. We did get to be close friends, though, and even have managed to meet in person. The first time we met, he was working at a camp only a couple hours away from my home; he was able to get some free time one afternoon so that we could meet and chat. The second time, he detoured to my town on his way elsewhere and we were able to spend a lot of time together over a period of three days. No, we still aren't dating, and I don't know that our friendship will last forever (as we find relationships elsewhere, it might get awkward to have such a close friendship with someone of the opposite sex). But I guess that we are something of a success story since we met on CDFF and got to be friends! Post Reply

Posted : 25 Mar, 2012 05:52 PM I have met three good friends and my fiance on this site :) My fiance is from the Philippines...this past January I traveled there to see her and to meet her family. We are now currently waiting for her visa to be approved. :) I met a good friend whom I call D on this site...she lives 8 hours away and this pass year on vacation I made a little jog on my way home in order to meet her...we spent the morning chatting and had a great time..she is standing up with my fiance at our wedding :) Another friend I met on here is also Filipina...while I have not met her yet...her and Xette (my fiance) have talked some on facebook and we have plans of one day getting to visit with her.....Another friend I met on here..i have known for at least two years now...she is Chinese but lived in Indonesia until this past April when she moved to New York...while we made plans to meet..we have yet to do so but we still communicate through texts and sometimes even phone calls....I'm thankful for all the friends I have met on this site....especially my best friend...my fiance, Xette...she is truly a blessing from God and I love her so much!!
