DevotionsPosted : 20 Dec, 2011 01:15 PMI personally do this for devotionals... I subscribe to one of the various free daily devotional publications. Then for each day I look at the verses being discussed FIRST before reading the publications comments... next I read the verses in my Bible 3 times through... next I break down the text using the devontional Bible study method. After breaking down the verse using s.t.a.r. p.e.t.s. I then go back and read what the booklet had to day for that days devotion. |

DevotionsPosted : 2 Jan, 2012 07:44 PMWhat's your style? I pray the Daily Office every day using the Celtic Daily Prayer book from the Northumbria Community and the Episcopal Book of Common Prayer. The CDP has some great daily readings and meditations that I incorporate into my morning and evening prayers. I also pray an Anglican rosary using the Lord's Prayer on the cross, the "glory be" on the invitatory, "guide me waking and guard me sleeping" on the cruciforms, and the Jesus prayer on the weeks. I have a smartphone with a Daily Bible app that has a bunch of reflections and devotions that you can use also. |
