New to Teen Ministry

So I'm fairly new to you teen ministry. I've only been leading a teen group since the Spring. It is something I would have ever pictured myself doing, but that's one of those funny ways God works.

So I'm looking for ideas for creating a strong, family-like bond between the teens. I have high-school aged teens.

Any ideas?

Have a meal together, and prepare it together. Everyone is given a duty to help make the meal and everyone helps clean up together afterwards.

You could also do a game night, and play something like The Ungame where the intention of the game is to get to know the other players better.

Another idea is to do some type of volunteer/community service thing together.

Katie has some really good ideas. Anything that makes the group work together to reach a common goal will strengthen their bond as a group.

I don't work with high-school teens, but I do work with college students (I teach at a Christian college). Twice a year, the music department puts on a production. The bonds that form when the students work together to make the shows a success are super strong, and the students really do feel like a family.
