Like you're awkward or doing something wrong. Of course they are going to show the extremes to make it more interesting, but people are already making fun of it. I just feel like it's a personal choice everyone has to make and just because staying a virgin until you're married might not be the "popular" thing to do, it doesn't make you weird. Just my opinion, I'm interested to see if anyone else has seen this and what they think. Post Reply

But as you go through the Bible, there are so many verses that talk about how important purity is to God. Look at 110:30 Thessalonians 4:3-8 "It is God's will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that you each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God; and that in this matter no one should wrong his brother or take advantage of him. The Lord will punish men for all such sins, as we have already told you and warned you. For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life. Therefore, he who rejects this intruction does not reject man but God, who gives you his holy spirit." There are so many more verses that say something along the same lines. You're right, its not the 'popular' thing anymore which is sad. But its the right thing, so you should be proud of yourself! Thessalonians 4:11-12 "You should not obsess over unbeleivers' opinions of you. Neither should you try to be an outcast. A Christian who lives with integrity and consistency will gain other's respect and a voice to share Christ with them." Post Reply

I added that last verse in there to kind of show you what the Bible said about that. I thought it pertained to the situation because you were saying people were making fun of it. Maybe some of those people are non beleivers, so the Bible sayd don't pay any attention. I'm a very sensitive person, so I care what everyone thinks really. I wish I didn't, but I'm going to try to live by that verse more. I havn't watched it, and now reading what you said about it, I don't want to. I thought you meant the show was making fun of people who waited until marriage.That's why I said I didn't want to watch it. But it's a good show, I really liked it! The couple's on there are an inspiration to me. You know, I actually think waiting is coming back into style. A lot of celeberties are coming out and saying they're saving their selves. I do think it should be a personal choice and people should not pass judgment. We, who choose to wait don't make fun of them for not waiting. Post Reply

It was more like the people who were reviewing the show that were making fun of it. But yeah, I agree that it's a personal choice and I'm really happy that more people are speaking out about it too. Perhaps the reason so many people bash virginity--is because they are convicted of their perversions when they see Christians doing what is right. Post Reply
