"Do you think you will meet your mate?" Nope. I really doubt that I will, though it would be a nice surprise, I guess! "Do you wish to make friends?" Eh. It sounds cold and unfriendly to say that I don't want to make friends here, but I actually do have quite a few friends in "real life," both guys and girls, of all ages, married and single. So I'm not desperate for friends. That said, I've made one good friend on here, and he's not just an online friend; we've met a few times and spent enough time together to safely say that we have a genuine friendship. "Are you looking for someone to spend time together with people that share your hobbies?" Considering the fact that I earn my living doing my hobby (music!), I'd say "no." All of my coworkers share my hobby. I've known all of them since I was an undergrad (yep, they used to be my college professors, and now they are my colleagues), and we have always gotten along great both in the academic setting and out of it. I guess that if anything, I come here to get AWAY from my hobby for a while; it's nice to read posts that have nothing to do with music, and share ideas and advice on a wide variety of topics. I think this is the first time I've posted in almost two months though. Do you think you will meet your mate? Nope. Do you wish to make friends? Yes, that is why I joined this site. Are you looking for someone to spend time together with people that share your hobbies? That would be nice, but I don't really have any hobbies. Mainly, I just eat, sleep, work, and surf the 'net. Do you think you will meet your mate? On here? No, but mostly because I'm not interested in trying anymore, but you never know... Do you wish to make friends? Not really. There were times when I thought I would meet my future partner on here, but there's also been too many times with no success for me to really believe in it anymore. As for making friends, well I'd prefer not to make enemies, but it's not friendship I joined this site for. Besides, almost everyone on these forums is in the USA anyway! Ditto for the last question. On a scale of 1 to 10, with one being the lowest number (you absolutely dislike it) and ten being the highest number (you cannot find enough good things to say about it), how would you rate the forums? I am thinking a 7-8. Sometimes people put up really long posts and I don't have lots of time to read them. Sometimes I see what I perceive as rants that sound hateful or mean. Sometimes I see genuine people asking questions. How can we make this forum a better place? Post Reply
