Any other students out there that hate writing papers? I don't necessarily like it, but it is a necessary evil of education. Now that my rant is over, back to work!

I usually avoid writing papers as much as possible (though I'll have to write a short reflective paper sometime this year as part of a faculty development initiative), though I never really minded it too much as a student. What I REALLY hate, though is grading papers! My students appreciate that, because that means I don't give them a lot of papers to write. :glow:

I wish my professors thought about that! I have one that gives the TA our papers to grade for grammar first, then it goes to him to grade for content. YIKES! Better follow the appropriate format.

I'm one of those who actually really enjoys writting papers... in fact in my PPE class I just wrote a 5 page report all within 3 hours start to finish and submission. I have another 3 page paper to write before weeks end which I will probably write either during my lunch break Friday or as soon as I get home from work before moving on to my other class assignments.

I find that sometimes it takes me a while to write them. That is the norm. Sometimes and not often at all, it seems that the paper comes to me a lot quicker and easier.

I guess for a lot of people it depends on the type of paper they are writing. When I was a student (particularly in grad school), I was usually allowed to choose my own topic within certain parameters, and if I chose something interesting to me, I enjoyed the process of research and writing. Now that I'm a professor myself, though, my paper-writing consists of administration-required assessment reports...never much fun!
