A lot of times people have a strict, narrow view of what church is. So you may already go to church, without actually going to 'church'.

Going to church has nothing to do with faith in Jesus, but it IS important you meet with other Christians regularly. You'll learn from them and vice-versa. It can also stop you believing'truths' that are not of God, unless you only meet with like-minded folk, and a very real sense of accountability.

Now whether this group of Christians call themselves xxxx church and have fixed service arrangements or not is irrelevant!

Matthew 18:20 Where two or more are gathered...

I don't think it matters that you actually physically GO to church. Church can be anywhere as long as you are meeting in the Lord's name. Just make sure that you are finding a way to fill your cup so to speak. God can do a lot through you and His word, but I believe He also created us to be in community with one another. We can learn a lot about God through others too. I think you'll know if God is calling you to meet with His people. Like I said, we are draw to be in community with God and with others:)

I don't have to use a microwave to heat up food or a cellphone to make a phone call, but that doesn't really make sense either. Technically, no you don't NEED it, but when it comes to your relationship with God, why hold back?

Reasons it's better to go to church than to not.

1) The pastors there know more and have a better perspective of the Bible and can draw your attention to things you wouldn't have caught or noticed on your own and show how it's applied to your everyday life, which draws you closer to God.

2) You're only as good as your friends are. It's important to belong to a community of believers who will hold you accountable, encourage, and influence you to be closer to Christ and you being able to do the same for others and branch out from there to your non-christian friends to bring them closer to God.

Not everyone goes to church. Many people have different reasons. It's not as important as some people make it out to be. Jesus said the PEOPLE are the Church, not a building.

So as long as you continue to grow spiritually, and you have good solid Christian friends who pray for you and hold you accountable, you have a church. It's just not a traditional one.

It doesn't really matter what other people's opinions are on this or anything else. If you ever feel lead to go attend a church, I'm sure you will follow God's leading to do so. If He's not leading you to go, then don't worry about it too much.

I'm not a regular. But I think there's something we can all take from the word "dwell". ...

Psalms 133:1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

John 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

1 Corinthains 3:16 Know you not that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

Acts 7:48 Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as the prophet says.

That said, ever time I've gone to a church I've felt very moved... every time to tears, each time, without fail, when we'd sing it would bring tears to my eyes.

Whether you go to church or not is not so important, but the main thing to remember is that you have to dwell with other believers in unity, and dwell with God in peace.

If it doesn't help you, don't go. But if it does, do.
