Admin	Men's thoughts on women who don't want kids? (Women's answers welcome too!) Posted : 16 Apr, 2011 08:31 PM Men, would you break up with your girlfriend because she didn't want kids? Women, have you ever had a relationship go sour over the issue of children (not including 2nd marriage issues with 1st marriage children)? Was it you or the man who didn't want kids? Any other thoughts about this? Some women out there simply have a deep passion for their careers or simply aren't ga-ga about children. There's certainly men like that, but for some reason it's socially unacceptable for a woman to be that way, especially in Christian circles. As though there can't be diversity among female personalities... we were not all made to have the same interests. And please, can we try to keep this a general discussion (as opposed to discussing me - how young I am, how I will eventually want kids, etc etc thank you, but I have heard it all already, I want to know how people feel about this topic more on a general note). No one can live your life for you, and really its none of their business. I always get asked the reason why I don't want kids and I simply tell them "its personal". Post Reply

Posted : 9 Dec, 2011 06:45 PM I think it's normal to want kids, but I also think it's normal to not want kids. Having kids should happen on its own. Some people just don't want them and they can't help that. As for me personally, I absolutely adore kids but I don't know if I want them. I think it's also because I'm still young. That wouldn't keep me from being with someone who had kids though. I think it's all about who God brings into your life Post Reply

In fact, if I had married earlier in life, I would probably want to have kids. But at 38, I don't think I still want to have a child. One reason is high-risk pregnancy for women beyond the age of 35 and the complications (for the baby) that comes with it. Second reason is the work that comes with raising children, I don't have that kind of energy anymore. Waking-up in the middle of the night, not for me. Reason number three, I think it would be unfair for any child if parents could not keep up with any of his/her physical activities. That is why ideally, child conception and rearing should take place when a woman is in her mid 20's to early 30's. Adoption also crossed my mind but now that I am getting older, I just prefer not to have children. I like children though, especially at their cutest. I even have children from Church visit me at home from time to time but I like the concept of returning them to their parents when we're done playing. Post Reply

I am in the same position as you in that i do not want children of my own, i never have and i genuinely do not believe i ever will. I love kids and have worked with them, but i have no maternal instincts at all. I always get weird looks and what is wrong with you comments thrown at me when i tell people as they just not understand. I am reassured knowing i am not alone, so thank you friend :) Post Reply

I said "no, I don't plan on having any". She said "you're not going to make me a grandmother? You will change your mind someday" I hit the half-century mark sooner than I care to admit.
