Beards. Jesus had one. Why don't you?

Why the hate? If Jesus were here would you tell Him to shave?

Bible says to walk as He walked. He had a beard, so I do too. He was a carpenter, so am I. I just want to follow in the footsteps of the Master.

Why then did He give us beards? If not to have them?

There are women that have facial hair too, just so you know. We probably have little tiny hairs all over out bodies. It is probably to keep bacteria and germs away. Most societies and professional jobs have not only a code of ethics but hygiene standards, so men are expected to shave.

If you are so intent on not shaving, why ask a question that is really a statement of judgment to others that don't feel the same way?

I don't recall any scriptures that describe the physical attributes of Christ, perhaps you can enlighten the board. And can you also explain your theology on why is this an important issue to you?

Not everyone believes in keeping the torah in this day and age.....and ppl are so judgemental with looks. I agree with u on "nothing about a beard is nonprofessional" but ppl view beards for old, outdoorsman, noncivilized, country types, and whatever else stereotypes but don't sweat it. Have no shame in your obedience to THE most high.

Shalom

Actually it was the Nazirites who weren't allowed to shave or cut their hair; for most normal jewish men it would have been shameful to have long hair like a woman, as Paul writes in his letter to the Corinthians.

There is no biblical command for men to have beards, not even for Jews - only Islam requires it.

Finally. as a direct answer to your question, being born with the capability for something doesn't mean it's God's desire for it to be there. Since birth I've had sinful desires but that doesn't mean God approves of them; it's a consequence of being born in a fallen state and I don't blame God for that, nor do I justify them because "that's the way God made me".

Leviticus 19:27="Do not destroy the borders of your head. Do not destroy the borders of your beard."

Yahshua did have a beard. He followed this Biblical law. You should not judge a man by whether or not he has a beard. Stereotyping bearded men as uncivilized, dirty, wild, poor, lazy, or other negative things is a sin in itself. Haven't you read, "Judge not, lest ye be judged?"

Jas 2:1 My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.

Jas 2:2 For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;

Jas 2:3 And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:

Jas 2:4 Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?

Jas 2:5 Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?

Jas 2:6 But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?

Jas 2:7 Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?

Jas 2:8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:

Jas 2:9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
