Posted : 9 May, 2011 08:35 AM As a girl who prefers not to make first contact I don't find myself responding very often to winks--getting a message from some one is so much more direct, and shows me true interest. Wink plus message is pretty easy to tell--they think you're cute and want to communicate. But just a profile view and a wink . . . What does that mean to you? How do you respond? Have you done this? This is open to m/f winkers and wink receivers. ;) Post Reply

Most people on the site to my knowledge prefer not to be winked at. My response to a wink from someone is, what do they mean from it lol. what gets me more is when people just don't respond to a harmless message. Is there some reason people just ignore people online? If someone walked up to you and said hello and asked how someone was doing in person, would they be ignored? Post Reply

Posted : 9 Jun, 2011 09:44 PM Its hard for me to "make the first move" since I have often messaged someone and not gotten anything back, I wink first and to let the person know Id be interested in getting to know them, if they wink back then I assume they are interested to..maybe Im losing out on possible interesting people by not messaging first..i dont know, its hard to put myself out there and be reject, get no reply etc..a wink I suppose its less hurtful not to get a reply cause I dont put as much thought into it. Whether they are for me only time tells that, but, by sending the wink and then a message after they have received the wink does show a little more than just sending a wink... Post Reply

Its my way of initiating conversation. if he winks back it means he find me interesting too. i tend to ignore winks if i dont find him interesting. I always answer to messages because i know everybody deserves to have an answer. Post Reply

I see winks as a guy thinking that I'm cute and is interested in me, when it comes with a message. But without a message, it just seems like he wants to flirt. I personally take it as a warning..lol..To me it's flirting with sumone you havent really got to know! There are other gestures to make the initiation..say a simple :) private message....I'm not saying it is bad all the time but most of the time it just doesnt tell what the other person intends. I do read go thru the profile still which does to some extent reveal about the extent of their intent! Proverbs 10:10 He who winks the eye causes trouble, And a babbling fool will be ruined. Not being judgmental but i seriously think our forefathers did possess the wisdom of God and so jus passing it on! There is a lot of truth to this word of GOD and though we may not take it all in a bad sense we need to pay some attention as the spirit leads us! If I really like the girl I will send her a message along with the wink. Most of the girls on this site don't post any useful info about themselves. They just put up a picture and expect that guys will write them. I usually don't write or wink at girls with no info. Even if they are attractive. Since they don't tell anything that means they are just playing on this site and they are not serious. Also, if a girl says she doesn't respond to winks, I don't wink at her. Lastly, why don't some girls make first contact? Haven't any of you read the Book of Ruth? Post Reply
