how do you feel about prenuptial agreements, on biblical grounds, or otherwise?

would you ask for one?

would you sign one?

I don't understand the concept for a prenuptial agreement, I think it puts the idea of divorce into the couple's heads before they are even married. That is like preparing for a divorce. And I think that makes divorce that much more of a possibility, because they are already "prepared" for it. I am pretty sure that I won't sign one.

Absolutely not. I would not agree to a prenup. I agree with Katie and Pixy 100%.

The only time I've seen prenups beneficial is when adult step-children are involved. A prenup of the spouses wishes and intentions coupled with a Will, makes it that much harder for greedy step-children to interfere with the property of families of origin. It's truly a legal document in case of death not divorce.

When a family business has been established and my step-children were not living lives pleasing to God - or my own child, yes I'd sign it. I would see it as a way of honoring my new spouses heritage or vice versa, not an out clause.

I'd sign a pre-nup in a heartbeat. I have no "education" so to speak of, so in all actuality, it's a great way to protect whatever woman would be involved. If something happens and we need to split, I'm done. PERIOD. If there's kids involved is the only exception. I feel no need to burden her with keeping me up to the old "standard of living" from when we were married. just my two cents

If you're a Christian, and you even consider getting one, you don't understand marriage and you're not ready for it. Not to mention how little you have to trust that person you apparently "Love".

hi guys..

i also disagree with the concept. i think in christianity, marriage should be forever. both husband and wife should be commited to their marriage. therefore, no need any prenup. hopefuly will have a man with the same idea. i pray so. ;)

Prenups can be a good thing if somebody has assets they want protected and to stay in the family, it would be beneficial to get one. We don't get to program and decide what our spouse decides in life, everyone changes, alot of the times for the worse. I would see it as a red flag if someone wasn't willing to sign a prenup if requested to and knew the person they were marrying were financially well off.

OK, you have all brought up some good points about prenups being a good idea when a lot of wealth or adult children are involved. I can see them being very useful in those situations. I guess I'm thinking of my own situation (I'm not rich), and the unlikely possibility of marrying a rich guy! It seems that there would be nothing to protect.
