Do we seek God first or Do we mean to say thanks later?

Hey all, we all are in the same boat for that one reason directly or indirectly. But , do we take time to pray and feel the father heart of God for our well being? I was seriously wondering how many of us seek God first to ultimately reach that ONE God has for us to live his purpose together. I believe this and want to share this that ' The man woman you are looking for should find God first to find you'. We as christians do we have that value anymore? Or Are we also like anyone next door or other non christian sites? Ps: I dont mean to judge anyone. Thanks:)

I think most have/are using God like they would do a divine "errand boy" am very sory for this but its the truth. Please say the Lord's prayer and consider how complete and revering to God it is but MOST of us would say God i want this, i want that...i am trusting you for.... When ideally we should be humbly saying not my will but yours or LORD be done. He knows what's best for us He is our maker

Well i agree with u Aisha we must pray and say thanks for everything to God first...this is the first Commandment (Btw God and human)

there is 2nd commandment ( human to human) Matthew 22:36-40

the 2nd commandment is also very important we should not ignore it...unfortunately being Christians yet we could not understand who is our neighbor...

i have been here for one and half year but i observed many chatters those who like to talk about bibles all the time...maybe they want to impress the others but in practically they racist..

what would u like to call them? believers? Good Christians ?

for me only recite the bible and prayers are not enough...

it is my personal view OBJECTIONS ARE ACCEPTABLE

...the first commandment is that we have to say "thanks" to God?

What Bible are you reading?

You can't call your personal view the first commandment.

Ah, that should have been a mistake God's girl or may be he just used the wrong words.

Well, It seems to me that a lot of Christians seek God first but then forget to say thank you in the end!

Similarly,I have seen some Christians earnestly seeking God for Jobs, Spouses or whatever they want God to do for them but in the end after achieving what they want, you can hardly see them at church, bible study, fellowship, prayer session...yet they were commonly seen in such sessions before...They only remeber to run back to God when they need something else.

I agree that God needs to be first. For me it includes:

Consistent Prayer and Bible reading.

Knowing where I stand when it comes to Theological issues.

Even more important than the above sentence, being kind, loving, and respectful to the people around me.

Being part of a good, sound local church.

I have learned that I cannot lean exclusively on intellect, that God needs to be the Being I lean on for all things. This also includes trusting God in difficult situations.

Identifying my calling/direction: I know for me personally consistency in my life has become very important, especially within the last 3 years.

I think many of us are in different stages of our relationship with God. So you will see some that ask out any christian person and make a train wreck of bad relationships. Or you have the person that prays to God for guidance, and they find that person..they pray more. If you want to ultimate relationship with God, you must seek him daily. Pray, read the bible, listen to worship music. It fills you up. The ultimate goal is to witness to people, show God's love to the broken.

I have stayed on this dating site through many seasons in my life. First I was at the point were I would go out with anyone who asked me, my relationship with God was strained because I didn't trust he had my best interest. I thought he couldn't possibly understand what I'm going through. Through in different hurts from bad relationships and me totally surrendering my life to him. I now try my hardest to build that relationship with him. He has told me right now in my life, he doesn't want me dating. It has been hard, but God has my best interests. I almost never get asked out. When I do it is a non christian. I felt invisible. But I finally realized it is a blessing. I am waiting for "the one". Not the right now. God will deliver when I am ready. Right now I am still a mess, with my hangups about my past, and I still have yet to get financially stable. And I am a single mom, with baby daddy drama. All I can do is seek God everyday. Let him heal me, and stay on his path for me. I do have a calling, and I need to do what God wants for my life, so that I can fullfill that calling.

Hope that makes sense? And if your wondering why im on this site still, it is a great site to make friends. Whatever season you are in your life, just ride it out, God is with you. And if God is with you, who can be agianst you? :applause:
