Musical Instrument?Posted : 4 Oct, 2011 11:55 PMI was wondering what kind of instruments people played. Most everyone I know either plays piano or guitar, but what about all the other wonderful ways out there to make a joyful sound? |

Musical Instrument?Posted : 6 Oct, 2011 10:22 AMI'm primarily a pianist (classically trained, BA and MM in Piano, teach private lessons, and I am a full-time college professor). However, I also play the flute and piccolo, organ, and harpsichord. I have a violin, but I'm not very good at that. At one time I also played around with the clarinet and saxophone...but never could play more than a few notes. |

Musical Instrument?Posted : 6 Oct, 2011 05:06 PMI just play the guitar, but I'm not very good. I bought some drumsticks in hopes of learning to play the drums, but it hasn't happened yet... all I can do is play a drum roll badly. I took a 6 week piano class in 6th grade, but I don't remember any of the songs I learned. |

Musical Instrument?Posted : 7 Oct, 2011 09:24 AMI play the cello - started when I was about 20. I take lessons (half an hour every other week) and I would like to play in an orchestra some time but I'm not very good about practicing. But my church is very small and informal so I play along with the worship there and that's what I really like doing. And I suppose I'm biased, but I think cello music is about the most beautiful there is. :) |

Musical Instrument?Posted : 8 Oct, 2011 12:34 AMPlay by ear. That reminds me of a story. When I was in high school we had a Vietnam veteran come and speak. He had a phosphorous grenade go off in his hand right next to his head. He ended up losing his right ear and had the bones in three of his fingers fuzzed. After he healed up, he learned to play the piano, even with the fuzzed fingers. Anyways, one time a guy asked him for the millionth time how he could play the piano, and he quipped, I play by ear, and he took off his prosthetic ear and started to play the piano with it. |

Musical Instrument?Posted : 11 Oct, 2011 11:02 AMI don't play any instruments, but i enjoy listening to shamisen, piano, drums, violin & a few others if it'll make the particular song come alive. If i had to learn one it would be violin. Anyway congrats on getting the flute Arawen :). |

Musical Instrument?Posted : 15 Oct, 2011 05:31 PMTechnically, the voice is a musical instrument and the only one in the world that can be unpredictable. |
