Posted : 9 May, 2011 08:35 AM As a girl who prefers not to make first contact I don't find myself responding very often to winks--getting a message from some one is so much more direct, and shows me true interest. Wink plus message is pretty easy to tell--they think you're cute and want to communicate. But just a profile view and a wink . . . What does that mean to you? How do you respond? Have you done this? This is open to m/f winkers and wink receivers. ;) Post Reply

Posted : 9 May, 2011 09:57 AM I don't usually wink (unless I'm not sure if the profile is active, and want to see if the wink was received before I put time into sending a whole message). When I'm winked at, I usually just ignore it. The only time I would respond with a message is if the profile is especially great, and the guy sounds like someone I would really be interested in. I actually get a lot of winks from older men (age 60+). I figure/assume/hope they are just winking as a way to say "You're a cute girl...wish I was your age!" Post Reply

Posted : 14 May, 2011 04:51 PM I might have winked at the odd woman because they said something on their profile that I liked, but I was too idle to speak to them or they lived in some far away land so couldn't see the point etc. It's just a show of appreciation rather than trying to make contact because if I want to say something I will say it. I don't really pay any attention to the winks I get, I might have a quick look at the profile but more often I don't. Post Reply

Try writing them a simple "hi, how's your day?" back. That's how I start my conversations with everyone. Good jumping off point. Maybe some guys are shy. Often if I send a wink I'm usually just unsure of what to message them with, and sometimes of whether or not they might be interested. A wink can be a much...safer way to go. Post Reply
