Been internetless for a few days; a bitter sweet experience. I have learned about civil, nautical and astronomical twilight. So this morning I got up at astronomical twilight, fed the horses, then left at nautical twilight on my mountain bike. Went exploring on the other side of the valley following some cow trails. Carried my bike up to the top of a mountain just in time for civil twilight. Sat up there for awhile and talked to God; very relaxing.

To my surprise I found some indian acorn grinding holes in the granite slabs in a saddle connecting to another mountian. Iut struck me as odd that these holes were a good climb from the valley floor; the oak trees are every where so wouldn't it be easier to grind the acorns down at the bottom?

It was alot more fun coming down the mountain, except for the fresh cow pies! When I got home I looked up how the indians really oground and used the acorns. I am about a month late for harvesting acorns bit I want to go back up and see of I can find enough and grind them in the same holes. Then leach them and bake some bread. *! I did figure out why they were grinding up there. It was because of the breeze blew through this spot; they would use the breeze to winnow the shells from the nuts; awesome!*

How would that be for a first date? ; mountain biking mountain climbing acorn gathering and baking

No wonder I am still single

Sparrows, You're wife will just let you grind the acorns into flour, and then cook bread in a hot kitchen all day. ^,,^~

Well this morning, I went to work and taught violin and viola. Typical for my Saturday Morning. This afternoon I went around the neighborhood and gave some left over candy to some of the neighbors I know. Then this evening, while I was getting ready to go from the store, my car door decided not to close. The latch would not reset no matter what I tried. This went on for about a few minutes. Ended up praying, and the next thing that happens is someone came over and helped me fix the latch, so I could close the door. Hmm, note to self, pray first.

I missed this yesterday. I had a really good day. Slept in, walked along the beach with a friend (the waves were coming in driven by the coming story and were splashing over the sea wall - terrific!), did some things for myself, then met with a lady from church about Children's Ministries. Calm warm day with lots of sun. Thank you God!

This is way late but your heart is made of gold with the things you appreciate in life. Grinding acorns is kind of romantic if done with someone you care about. I think this is one cool kind of date...
