Well I'm the product of an interracial marriage!!

From personal experience, I haven't any negative comments to say about it but I am not that naiive to think that all folks think/feel the same way.

I do know this though - observing my father who is white, I have come to realise it takes a man of courage within his own racial background to step out of the "norm" and marry someone else from a different ethnicity or custom....there is definitely a strength there knowing you will be looked at differently amongst your own "people" so to speak...

all I have to say is I think I got the best of both worlds thanks to my parents!!

This is an interesting topic! Just a couple of days ago, I was feeling a bit disappointed at the number of profiles on this - a Christian - site for people who only want to date within their race. I found this really very surprising and just sad.

My personal view is this: When you become a Christian, you are also to renew your mind to Kingdom thinking. This gives you a passion for all people regardless of race. To hold on to your old prejudices means you are resisting the renewing of your mind. It's quite a relief that Jesus was neither white nor black so neither can claim superiority. He said there is neither Jew nor Gentile in Christ, and Jesus changed so much by mixing with people who would previously been considered 'taboo', and the early church did the same. When Christians of different cultures get together in worship, this is the smallest glimpse of heaven since the bible says that people from all nations will praise Him.

I think all the different cultures and races are God's beautiful creation, and all add to the richness of life, so I'm personally very embracing of these differences and enjoy discovering other cultures rather than trying to be insular. I think it is especially a shame when Christians attempt to be insular within their race and fail to join with their brothers and sisters in Christ.

I'm not so naiive as to not recognise the challenges of inter-racial relationships. If you are from different countries, there may be cultural differences. In order for it to work, I think you have to both be accepting, or even better loving, of each other's culture and background rather than trying to downplay one or the other. It can add so much richness to your children's lives also. My personal view is that any couple, regardless of their ethnic background, brought together in union under God's will and blessing is a beautiful thing.

I praise God that He is a God of all races, and loves all of His children passionately.

I don't even think about it, but I agree, it shouldn't matter. The only limiter I have for potential spouses is that I need to be "attracted" to their mind/body/soul. And through my experiences of "being attracted", the fact that some are other races doesn't seem to make any difference. "Race" shouldn't matter.

Wooh good response from all of you.i believe these words of wisdom will inspire some one out there who is in an interacial relationship and is going through a struggle.i have worked in a xtian organization with mixed race yet they don't advocate for the IRR.well,so i kinda wonder why they confess salvation yet deep down their heart they are totally against it yet before the lord there is no black or white, but children of God with the same inheritance through christ.

As far as I am aware, from reading the Bible, when talking about marriage it DOES say to not be unequally yoked and to love your marriage partner as you would love yourselves - (between man/woman) - nothing there that says no to marrying outside of your ethnicity (apart from the OT where ADONAI stipulates certain rules for the Jews for their benefit).

One of the "giants" of the OT, Moses, had a black wife...

I think as far as Christians go and following the teachings of Jesus, He smashes down those walls of division whatever those "walls" maybe and has given us FREEDOM to love one another in an atmosphere that is free of old notions and manmade rules etc....

I dont really care if someone is of a different race. I will admit that I am attracted to certain traits. I am most attracted to Caucasian, Native American, and Asian ladies. We are all Gentiles regardless of color.

As for the wife of Moses, she was a Midianite, not a Cushite. If she had been a Cushite, Moses would have been forbidden to marry her, because by tradition, Cushites were Hamidic, and therefore "cursed".

Well I'm the one of the most interested person in Interracial relationship..

I believe that a person's ethnic background means nothing when it comes to love. You can't help who you fall in love with. Look, let's get past all the BS society throws at us about this and that and just love.

I think that Jesus lives us all regardless of our race. Why should we be Amy different. Now I have family members who strongly disagreewith me. Love sees no color.
