Also, please don't think people are ignoring your post. It's that this probably should have been put in the 'ask a guy or girl' section. Or even the dating experiences section. People only usually come here when they are looking for folks that live in their area. I don't subscribe to the ideal of soul-mates mainly because the implication is that this person is 'perfect' for you and everything will be smooth and joyous because you have found your perfect compliment to you. All relationships takes a lot of work and effort on the part of both parties. So, I think there are many people who are ideal for each of us, because people who are the same and those who are opposites can make their relationship work. I mainly don't subscribe to the idea of a soul mate because God has given us a will. He can lead us if we allow Him, but we also can choose and He gives us that choice. Of course, because he is Alpha and Omega, He knows what we will choose, and He gives us the free will to choose our mate. Post Reply

The proof is, God made Eve for Adam because he did not want man to be alone... Therefore It is a promise from God to me... Some where out there my Adam is alone and God will bring him to me. Claim your promise my dear, pray and believe and God is going to bring you two together. God is true in his promise. He never fails and he won't start now. The bible says: Proverbs 18:18 NIV He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord. Proverbs 31:10 NIV A wife of noble character who can find? 1 Corinthians 7:2 NIV But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband. If in fact God created a "soul-mate" for each of us what then about free will - what if the person who God created for me was aborted, or died of a drug overdose shortening their days, or is practicing homosexuality? There was a connection that was beyond description between us. From the moment we met we were able to finish each other's sentences. When we touched head to head it felt like a twin connection. I have never known anyone in my 56 years that I connected with like I did this person. He was the other half of me. We were married eleven wonderful years and when he died my heart and soul died right along with him. He has been gone now for eleven years, and to this day I miss him like he left just yesterday, and I pray to be joined with him again soon...but God has other plans for me. I have not been in a realtionship with anyone else since his death. Yes, I believe we have soul mates, and I was lucky enough to find mine. Post Reply

But trying to stay positive, I do believe we will find someone who God puts into our lives. We need to pray and be specific though, in our prayers to God. Do not be afraid to ask for who you feel is on your heart. My main concern is that he is a god-fearing man, someone who i connect with spiritually and someone who I enjoy being with. Posted : 12 Jun, 2010 01:53 PM I don't believe that any of those verses point towards a soul mate unless you desperately want to believe in Soul mates. Many a cult are made up and centered on verses taken out of context or ignoring the verses that make their understanding false. If 10 verses say one thing, say assurance of salvation, and one verse can be misunderstood that salvation can be lost, then you must search out what the one verse is really talking about. "...his wife..." does not mean the one made for him but the one he marries. At that point love is a choice and God wants you to hold solid to your vows and overcome all problems because He meant us to be married once and forever. You won't always feel in love but you must choose to ignore your feelings and keep your vows by continuing to choose to love the one you made vows to. My red flag goes up when someone says, "I believe God....." or "My God meant this...." It only matters what God has clearly meant by studying a subject deeply and with exhausted cross references and even perhaps the original Hebrew/Greek word used to be SURE of God's counsel. Anything else is of the evil one. God does not live in the gray, He lives in the Truth. And Amen for that. Post Reply

First, it is not mentioned in the Bible that there is just one person for everyone. That would mean there would have to be exactly enough of each sex to match everyone. And I think the chances of meeting that one person is remote. A soul mate is someone you meet and get to know so well that you choose to love them. When they put the Lord first they can become soul mates in a sense. But that there is only one right person for everyone is pretty impossible. I know all things are possible with God but like I said earlier, He never said that we only had one right person to find. Can you tell I love logic. Post Reply
