bcpianogal View Profile History	Court Case tomorrow Posted : 16 Jan, 2011 09:03 PM Please pray for me as a case I'm involved in comes up in court tomorrow (Monday). It's nothing too serious, thank God. A student hit my car and knocked off my side-view mirror last September. I didn't see what happened, but a witness managed to get the tag number, a description of the car, and a description of the driver as the car sped away without stopping. I filed a police report, but when the police questioned the suspect, he denied hitting my car. Because of that, the judge asked that all three parties be present for court. Here's the problem: the one and only witness just emailed me and said that he decided not to show up in court tomorrow, and that I would be on my own testimony-wise. We weren't "summoned" or anything, so there's no real consequences for not showing up...except that the judge might throw out the case. Please pray that things go smoothly. I could have just cried when I found out that my only witness is bailing on me, but there's nothing I can do about it. A second part to this prayer request is this: please pray the the insurance company will get their act together. I had to pay for nearly $500 of repairs out of my own pocket, and was told by MY insurance agent that the other person's insurance would be reimbursing me. He was going to take care of filing the claim and doing all the paperwork. He's let me know once he had done so, and told me to expect a check in the mail. So far, I have received no payment at all. Now I'm in the middle not only of the court case, but also of trying to figure out what is going on with the insurance. And I really have neither the time nor energy for all of this. View Profile History	Court Case tomorrow Posted : 19 Jan, 2011 05:06 PM I'm sorry I just now saw this, but am glad that things went well. I had a similar incident the summer before last. A delivery truck sped by me and knocked my mirror off. We were in the middle of traffic, so I didn't get any identifying information from the truck. The cost of repair was slightly less than my deducible ($250), so I ended up just paying for the repair out of pocket. So annoying! And then, just this week, someone managed to dent one of my car doors while I was parked here at my apartment complex. It's a fairly nasty dent and the person didn't leave a note and I haven't the money at the moment for repairs. *sigh* Anyway, sorry for venting on your prayer request here! Post Reply

The suspect actually didn't show up for court, so the judge issued a bench warrant and slapped him with a hefty fine and orders to make financial retribution for the damages to my car. I guess we'll see what happens, but I'm optimistic. God is good! Post Reply
