Admin	prayers needed for healthy mom & baby Posted : 17 Sep, 2010 11:57 AM Well, I didn't intend on being quite so open about my personal life on here, but due to the direction that my "If you were dating a girl..." thread (under "Ask A Guy") went, there are enough details out there that I may as well give you all a few more so that you can pray for me specifically. I took a pregnancy test on Monday night, which came up w/ a very faint result. And then I re-tested Wednesday morning and came up w/ an unmistakably positive result. So... I am pregnant. Assuming that my calculations are correct, baby pixy will be arriving around May 23rd. This is upsetting for the obvious reasons, but also because of associated financial and health issues. I won't go into details regarding the financial situation, except to say that I do not have health insurance at the moment. The health issues are messy... I've been advised by 2 different doctors w/in the past couple of years to never get pregnant, due to the potential complications, some of which would be fatal to either myself or the baby. I think the doctors may have just been overly cautious in their warnings, but I must admit that there is some definite fear in proceeding w/ the pregnancy. And, yes, I do intend to proceed w/ the pregnancy. So, I would really covet your prayers in this area. Pray that I'll be able to find adequate medical care and that the baby and I will not experience any complications. Also pray that the morning sickness I've experienced the past few days will subside, as I'm starting school next week and need to be able to attend my classes. Thankfully, one of my classes is online and the other two are block classes that only meet on Mondays and Wednesdays. I woke up w/ morning sickness at 4 this morning and have vomited 5 times already =( I'm a little afraid I'm going to get dehydrated, but I'm trying to drink lots of water. I'd appreciate prayers for my emotional and spiritual wellness also, as recovering from sexual assault is not a quick or easy process. This whole thing is a really big test of faith, for sure. I'm confident that He who began a good work in me will complete it, but have had some moments in the past few weeks where I've wavered in my belief there. Please keep my boyfriend in your prayers, as well. I know that none of this has been easy on him, both because of the situation itself and because I haven't been the most pleasant person to be around these past couple of weeks. Pray that we'll both continue to seek the Lord's will in our relationship and in the many decisions that I/we will face in the days and months to come. And if anyone has any pregnancy words of wisdom, feel free to post them! I am feeling clueless and overwhelmed and am not quite sure what to do next... So any advice will be appreciated =) Post Reply
