Prayer request- a matter of life and death

Hello Brothers and Sisters,
I'm writing this with a heavy heart right now. My closest friend just told me last night that she's scared her father may die. I was surprised and asked her why, when she told me that they need $3,000 to pay their electric bill or their electricity will be turned off. I know this is something we hear all the time, especially with the economy being in such a rut, but her father will truly die if they do turn it off.
Her father is a quadriplegic, this happened after he had a stroke walking up the stairs and fell back all the way down the steps and hit his head. He cannot walk, talk or eat. He has to eat from a feeding tube as well, and needs the electricity on for his machines to run. He needs his oxygen and humidified air on 24/7 to breathe. So, if they really do turn off the electricity, which they are set on doing, then this poor man will die.
Money has always been tight on this family. The primary job of the mother is to be a caretaker for a husband. She is such a good woman, and the true definition of a wife. She never gave up on him, and has been taking care of him for about nine years now. Because of the amount of time she puts into taking care of him, she cannot get a job. She relies on government assistance to help her and her children out. My best friend wants to get a job and help out- unfortunately, they only receive 1,000 dollars a month, and if the system finds out that someone in the household is working, they will reduce it to 700 dollars. Can you imagine living on 1,000 dollars? It makes this situation so heartbreaking.
Well, I really need some prayers. We've made many groups and websites, asking for people to pray and donate, and just spread awareness. I stayed up all night writing letters to many known philanthropy groups, and talk shows. She has written to many radio stations and has gotten no response. Please keep her in your prayers! I wanted to post the website, but I don't want it to seem like I'm soliciting or something...but if you do want to see the website, to hear more of her family's story, I can post the link up later.
Make sure that the power company knows of the situation and that it can be proved. No company is going to endanger the life of someone in order to make a profit. There are hardship clauses in most state's legislature dealing with this.
Also check to see if there is any kind of commnunity action program in your town or near by, also check with your church.
