About a couple weeks ago, my last grandparent, my maternal grandmother, had suffered a stroke in her left brain (which paralyzed the right side of her body) not long after she had just gotten out of the hospital for a fall. She's unconscious and mostly unresponsive. My mom and uncle have made the final arrangements and Mom's side has convinced my uncle's side to respect her DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) order and removed her feeding tube, as per her living will. Please pray that God would give her her final peace. Eveyone that has been able to has come to say goodbye and we just want her pain to end. Also, please pray for my family that my family can act civil afterwards. The hardest part in losing someone that you all love is dividing property without turnig into a pack of jackals and turning against each other. For those who would keep her here in this life, please try to understand. Even if she would recover, she could never be independent ever again. Memaw has made it vey clear that she does not want to be in a retirement home. She's 93 and has lived in here own house up until this incident. Memaw has feared losing her independence more than her life. I have struggled with God about this and have made my peace with her wishes and, as much as it pains me to lose her, it pains me even more to see her lose the only thing that she values outside of her family. She's walked with Jesus on Earth for so long. Now it's time to be with him. Thank you. Post Reply
