cancer, stroke, and grief

I would like to make a prayer request for my grandmother. She has beat cancer once and it came back in January.. 2 weeks ago she fell in her home, and was by herself...she had a stroke and was laying on the floor alone for about 36 hours before her neighbor came to check on her.

Mother's Day was kind of difficult. My mother was visiting her in California--My grams doesn't want me to see her 'like she is' She can't move her entire right side and is needing physical therapy.

Yesterday on Mother's Day my mother came home from California (where Grams is) and I got to talk to Grams. It was very hard as she needs speech therapy too. My heart is hurting .

In November a counselor and dear friend of mine passed away and the grief comes in waves. I feel like the grief is coming back.. If you could pray for my grandmother, my family and me I would appreciate it.

If you have been through grief...what are some things that helped you?

I have sent up a prayer for your grams, mother, family, and yourself.

Romans 5:5 .... and hope maketh not ashamed. I cannot say that I have always handled grief well. I can say that wether it is handled well or not the pain will still ease with time. The best that I can advise is to hold to your Lord and your family. It will ease better with time this way.

Godbless and keep you

Guitarwings, I will pray for you all. Stay close to God in prayer, singing praises to Him, spending time with family and friends may help. Take care and God bless.:glow:

I'll try this again since it would not publish my whole post last night.

2 Corinthians 1: 3-4~ "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."

I like music, being with my grandkids and writing when I'm grieving. The Hospice website also has a lot of good articles for grieving people. May the Lord be your strength.

Praying for you Guitarwings. I definitely understand the pain of seeing a loved one suffer. I lost my mom @67 a couple of months ago + 2 of her siblings within the same year. Out of the 3, two of them died of cancer..Breast and Esophageal. It has been tough on the family and no the pain hasn't quite gone away. I however stand on the word of God in Thessalonians ....thanking God in all circumstances. The Joy of the Lord is our strength. your strength and you will come out victorious in Jesus Name!
