Dad will have his entire nose removed on the 14th and will be there for several days. Please pray for strength for my folks.

Thanks for the prayers!

As the swelling goes down, his pain increases. I'm trying to find non medication techniques to help easy the pain along with his meds.

I think the mental adjustment to having metal implanted in your face to "hang" your nose on has to increase stress therefore increasing pain.

He is bored. If you have any ideas on how to keep him busy without physical activity, I'd love to hear it!

Thanks again!

Anything to keep his mind and hands busy is best...Crossword puzzles...Reading material that He is interested in...sports, cars, history...etc...

Volunteer wise...simple things that can be done easily...like mailers for Church Functions...Phone or Email corspondance...

Dont know if this is what you had in mind...it just came to me...xo

Excellent answers, but he's not that alert. There's nothing he wants to watch on T.V. Crosswords take more concentration than he has right now. Don't know if that's the morphine or just basic body invasion. He has to be careful about outside contact because of risk of infection.

Thanks for caring. If you think of anymore ideas, please post.

Oh My....The WORD...CD's...Listening to the WORD...any & all...This has given much comfort to those in these situations...Also volunteers can come and read to him. Anything not just the Word...

I just purchased Jim Cavezels ??? ( The Passion ) New Testament series. Its a Word by Word of the NKJV with music & back ground noise befitting whats goin on...

I listen & read at the same time and sometimes just go to sleep listening...I believe our soul never sleeps and WORD is always Good for the Soul...:excited:....it runs about $50...but the WORD...is Priceless...xo

I'm taking my parent's to Omaha, Wed. morning for an appointment with the surgeon and surgery is scheduled for Thurs. morning. Please be in prayer for everyone involved.

He will stay in the hospital 3-4 days, so it will be a while before I can update you.

Thanks,

Rose
