I don't think I could or would be the one to push you off a mountain. I don't think I could live with myself if I did so. GOD did not give me that privilige to decide who lives or dies, no matter what circumstance they're in. WE can still do HIS work no matter what conditions we're in. why would you tie your ex on to me? I might land on top of her and it cushion my fall and it would defeat my purpose.
Just get me near the edge of the mountian and make sure I have a turbo electric wheel chair and I will do the rest. oh yeah,,,, a good ramp might help[ too.

I hope that I will be placed in a good nursing home instead of being a burden on anyone in my family.

I don't want to be cremated! I know that our bodies go back to dust, but the thought of being burned up really bothers me! I realize that I wouldn't know anything about it, but I want to give my friends and family one last look at me in order to help with closure. How's that for an excuse?!

I would never turn it over in the bed I was in ,,,, Just the floor next to my bed so I could laugh at the matinence folks while they cleaned it up.

have to slip into the siocial visiting hall and lock the door at midnight. roll the piano in front of the locked door to block anyone from getting in,,,,,,. and untune every string on the piano,,, then start banging the piano very loudly,,,the whole time singing He looks beyond my faults and saw my need,,
All kidding aside,,,, I am going to lay my head down and give up the ghost when my time comes. We serve a great God, Wonderful, Mighty in Battle is He. Even so Come Lord Jesus.

I took a course on "Death and Dying" in college based on a book by kybler Ross. They took us to a funeral palor. You know caskets and all. Explained the whole process: emboming fuild, casket, cremation urn, and then the Jewish way. I have chosen the Jewish way: no fake fuild (better if Christ were to resurrect me after I stinketh), no guilt frills, flowers, or hoopla for the family who neglected to love me while alive, and the pine box you are buried in was $600 compared to a plain casket at $3000 back 22 years ago. My only objection would be the ceremony-- no paid mourners but rejoicing in knowing we are not like those who have no hope but eternal life!!!
No organ donation designation on my driver's license. My family gets to make that decision. No life support, God gets to make that decision.
My grandfather had the perfect death at 84, in his favorite chair, with a newspaper, watching tv, dog at his feet and a pepsi on the table. Three months prior, he got all his papers in order, cleaned out years of clutter, organized his artwork in galaries for sale. I believe the LORD prepared him.
Well, I put in a request to just give-up the ghost in the same way.

hmmm...well before modern medicine people would die from the flu and other ailments that can be cured today. If there was a way to live longer I think I'd want to live as long as possible. Once you die you can't work anymore and you'll have eternity to look back on all you could have done. Even if the only thing I'm capable of is thinking in my mind I'd still like to continue doing so as long as possible. Perhaps I'd be miserable trapped in my mind, but I've discovered that I reach for God during my trials and perhaps having that much time to myself would force me to seek his face. You could pray for all those people you never bothered to mention before, you could build a friendship with the father and ask him questions having ample time to listen for his response without the distractions of every day life.
Maybe the nurse caring for me learns something the father wants to teach her. I don't know, all I know is I don't want to leave the feild untill I've harvested as much as I possibly can. I wan't to die in that feild with the sun on my face and the grain in my hand.
It is very hard to watch a person that was a vital, energetic person lose their abiltiy to move or breathe on their own. I see if everyday with patients. In my line of work, nurses are placed in the homes of people on ventilators, trachs, etc...life support machines in order to have some quality of life. Some use sign boards (blink their eyes) to communicate certain letters, etc...Some were coaches, teachers, etc...at one time but are now paralyzed and/or on life support. It would be like being in prison. Speaking honestly, my husband was the minister for this company. It was a Christian based organization. He didn't wish to be ventilated....He had a heart condition and the first time he was sick they ventilated him...He made me promise not to have him ventilated again...God was good. The second time God took him swiftly and gloriously. I don't want to put a damper on this post but it is close to home. I am starting over and the only way to do that is to face the past. We all
have things to deal with so why not do it together as long as the bedpans are separate!:nicenurse:

My father was the firemarshall of tampa florida and a captian of the firedepart for 23 years.... he always told us to never shock his heart back because it is a most painful thing to do,,,,you might think what would the person know,,, if they are dead,,,, its not when they are dead but when they come back,,,, every muscle and body funtion is messed up,, muscles pulled,,, the whole body is hurting.
