outlaw divorce?Posted : 3 Dec, 2009 10:54 AMI think we should target the root of the problem instead of the symptom. Instead of taking away freedom...maybe we should encourage morals and commitment...and lead by example. |

outlaw divorce?Posted : 4 Dec, 2009 07:22 PMYes, I saw that. Very interesting. Some average joe kind of guy thought that, since the voters voted down the law to allow gay marriages, he wants to outlaw divorce. His reasoning is that since the objection was marriage is biblically between a man and woman, divorce should be against the law, too. He's had mixed support. I think your idea about allowing the biblical exceptions is a good idea. |

outlaw divorce?Posted : 6 Dec, 2009 09:38 AMlol, thats kinda a good point...but I think people should be free to choose. I don't believe taking away peoples choices is a biblical way to go about stuff. The reason there is so much divorce is not because it's "legal". It's because we've failed to uphold our principles and to pass them on to our children. We've let schools raise our children and then act surprised when they don't turn out like we wanted them to. Murder is illegal...it hasn't slowed that down at all. People are what need to be changed, and "force" is never the best way....although it is necessary sometimes. I believe the "christian way" you get people to stop is by showing them a better way. Legislating morals isn't a great idea in my opinion. Maybe it's necessary though... |

outlaw divorce?Posted : 13 Dec, 2009 03:08 PMIf the person proposed this legislation simple because they were upset that a gay marriage" law didnt pass, then we shouldnt be surprised. |

outlaw divorce?Posted : 16 Dec, 2009 07:54 PMWell...God does recognize divorce...and gay marriage is wrong by definition. I really don't care though...I just want them to call it something else. I don't understand why homosexuals(one of the least christian types of people out there) want to be united under a christian tradition. |
