(Proverbs 27:17) Some newer translations say, "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." But here, do we sharpen one another or dull one another? The Bible is clear in some places. Yet we get a host of other ideas that dull us. It is not "What do the scriptures say?" It is not "What is written?" It is not "It is written." I think the sense can be dulled. I think we can be led to other standards not of scripture. What say you? What do you think? Are we sharpened or dulled by blogs? Post Reply
Handyman62 View Profile History	AS IRON SHARPENS IRON Posted : 20 Oct, 2024 10:36 AM I honestly can't answer whether we are sharpening or dulling each other or even if God want's to use these forums for that purpose. It would be nice to believe he is. I know my writings are controversial and largely ignored. I know what I write isn't 100% accurate for everyone nor is it overall 100% accurate. But I do believe it's pretty close in most ways. I purposely choose not to post a lot of scripture to back it up, and maybe that's a mistake. But even when I have the one's who it was directed at ignored the scripture anyway. As Christians we have to deal with the spiritual world and the physical world. We cannot ignore either one and need to understand both because one will get us though the pearly gates and the other we have to live in until then. My goal is to try and sharpen iron when it comes to dealing with Both men and women's natural tendencies. I know sometimes I get over zealous and say things in a way that hurts more that it helps, so at those times I'm likely dulling iron. But I am working on that aspect of my personality along with trying to be as accurate as I can about the other things I espouse. Post Reply

WalkNTalk View Profile History	AS IRON SHARPENS IRON Posted : 20 Oct, 2024 10:54 AM I think some of this scares people away from the site. People get on the blogs lacking anything in their inbox. Sometimes, we enjoy a good conversation on here. Other times, the arguments prevail, and probably some run from the site. In that way, maybe we dull a person or two. Some may be here to seek Christ. Then they hear the politics and are repelled. But not all us sugar coat stuff. Some of us want depth. There is some sharpening, some dulling, and some breaking blades. Post Reply
