Hey dgi,Do you notice that this is the greatest nation on earth! That billions of people risk everything(including their life to get here, because they know that we have the best of everything here! The reason we are the best is because the founders were smart enough to keep the government out of our lives as much as possible!you liberals want hand over to the government what the founders fought so hard tp acheive, and its because of lazyness! You dont want to work hard to make it on your own,so you want the government to take it away from those that do,and give it to you in the form of government programs!Hey,I got an Idea,Maybe I can gain 100 lbs.,get on disability, the I wont have to work either,I can lay around and eat pizza all day,of course then Im gonna need government healthcare cuz I cant work, the problem with that theory is,if everybody did that, there would be no one left to pick up the tab!
Anyone who doesnt like freedom from tyrany feel free to move to afghanistan.I love america,Lets not hand it over to the government OK.
I first have to point out that Conservative Principles for government are in fact the "Founding Principles". The framers of the Constitution spent much time hashing out the Constitution which has guided us to the top of the heap in every aspect in the world. The founders spent alot of time carefully thinking out the future ramifications of their words. Nothing in the Constitution has been overturned by amendment that was written by the founders. Amendments after the Bill of Rights only expand rights or restrict government overreach. The fact that leftist ideologues want to cut the Constitution into pieces and create loopholes to undermine it's authority is why we must reacquaint ourselves with the letter and spirit of the law of the land.
Strong National Defense: This is the most important principle. Without a strong military we wouldn't have anything we have. Other powers would love to overrun our country and take control or at the very least diminish our stature in the world. For some reason leftists in government think that defense spending is the first place to cut for their pet programs. Cutting defense spending is a dangerous thing in any time period but especially now given the global war on Islamic terrorists and the nuclear threat from rogue states by proxy of terrorists. President Reagan took a demoralized, fiscally famished military and built it back up to the top in the world, cut taxes and increased annual government coffers intake by 20%. Everybody remembers the wonderful 80's when conservative government principles were practiced and the military was returned to glory.
Shrink the Federal Government: Over the years the federal government has grown by leaps and bounds. The federal government controls huge swaths of the economy and is the largest land owner in the country. This is not what the founders envisioned. Most of the Executive Cabinet positions are not there lawfully, they were created to grab more control. Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution states in black and white the boundaries of Congress. The leftist members of the past and present have found loopholes in this article to expand their power, namely in the "Commerce Clause" which states that Congress will regulate commerce with foreign nations and between the states and with the Indian tribes.
It says "regulate". Regulate in this sense and what the founders wanted was regulate so that one state wasn't holding other states hostage for their resources etc. It does not mean that the federal government should take over whole industries. Doing what they have done is a violation of the 10th amendment which was sort of the mop up of duties for government that were not given to the federal government. The 10th amendment states that all powers not given to the federal government are reserved to the states and or the people. The federal government is bigger than it was ever meant to be and needs to be cut back down to it's boundaries named in the Constitution.
Cut Taxes: Taxes are necessary for the operation of government and to complete it's tasks per the Constitution. I don't have a problem paying my fair share of taxes and most people do not have a problem. The problem starts when taxes are used to punish or to unconstitutionally tax some, more than others. There is a solution to this called a flat tax. A flat tax would tax everyone with the same percentage we'll say for example it was 20%. Everyone would pay 20% of what they make so if you make more you are going to pay more but you will keep the same percentage of your profits as everyone else. This makes it fair and does not create disparity between classes. The leftists have used the tax code to punish successful people and non-personal business for a long time. This needs to stop and a fair tax would do that.
The problem now is that the federal government has gotten people addicted to government coming to the rescue. Many people expect a government check every month. It's gotten to be common now after 70 some years of Social Security. People do not see that the more they receive from government the more government has a say in their life. The federal government is supposed to be the referee, they are not supposed to play and referee and be biased to one side. That is what they have become, a sort of 800 pound gorilla that also calls the shots of the game.
Have you ever had the opportunity to attend a study series called "The Truth Project"?
If you have not, and ever get a chance to, take it. I think you would find it absolutely FASCINATING. I didn't get to review the entire series, but every one of them that I viewed was enlightening.
It takes a look at the worlds' truth and compares it to the Bible's Truth. What you said about government rather took me right to that. Satan uses government to become the answer to our needs, when we should be looking to God, so if the government can supply our needs, we will ultimately believe we do not need God. That is the world premise.
Look into it if you can, its great stuff, and I think you would enjoy it.
Tarasye...I just checked into the site you were talking about and two of my favorite preachers are on there (R.C. Sproul)and Ravi Zacharias,so I might check in to it a little more,Im so busy though ,LOL
