Preferring God's Way All The Way

TRUSTING God and OBEYING Him can't be separated in the life of a Christian. It's like the "thunder and lightning", they always go together. Never will there be a thunder without a lightning, and never will there be lightning without a thunder. In the same way, only he who believes is obedient, and only he who is obedient believes.

The Bible said, "Submit yourselves therefore to God..." (James 4:7) To "submit" is to be in subjection with implicit "obedience" to God at once (immediately) and once and for all (completely).

This means that the trusting Christan submits to God with no hesitancy in surrendering his "mind" (in his thinking), his "heart" (in his feeling), and his "will" (in his choosing) to the infinite wisdom and power of God. He disciplines his body and spirit to be in subjection to the will of God, preferring God's way all the way.

Noah TRUSTED God when he was commanded by God to build an Ark even when it did not make any sense to him. People during the days of Noah were not familiar with sea vessels, more so with ships or large watercrafts because they haven't seen yet a body of water. Nevertheless, Noah OBEYED God wholeheartedly with no "debates", immediately with no "delays", and completely with no "demands".

Those who say they truly believe in God will always prefer God's way all the way. They will prefer to "meditate" on God's infinite wisdom than to "calculate" with their finite wisdom. These people will never analyze till they become paralyzed spiritually, unable to respond to the instructions of God, but will instantly OBEY God's instructions wholeheartedly.

The Bible said, "Thus did Noah, according to all that God commanded him, so did he" (Genesis 6:22). To Noah, partial obedience is still disobedience. Nothing was missed out as to the size and details in the construction of the Ark, and as to the number of animals to be brought on board. He obeyed God immediately and completely.

May we not not be victims of the "Paralysis of Analysis" when it comes to our OBEDIENCE to God's Command. May we always prefer God's way all the way so that we could find grace in the eyes of the Lord just like Noah. (Genesis 6:8)

Excellent post!! Very well said!

Jesus said, he who loves me, keeps my commandments. We never obey as a matter of routine or legalism, we obey out of love for our Lord and Savior.
