Posted : 20 Jun, 2015 12:44 AM The most important thing to me as a believer is following the Two Greatest Commandments in recognizing who God is and to love him, then loving your neighbor as yourself, thus I feel fulfills the 10 Commandments. Mark 12:29, 30 - The most important one," answered Yeshua (Jesus), "is this: �Hear O Yisrael, the Lord our God, the Lord is one (Shema Yisrael Adonai Elohinu Adonai echad). Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. So we are to recognize who He is and to love Him, which I feel covers the first four of the Ten Commandments to God. Then in verse 31 - The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these. This second part I feel covers the last six of the Ten Commandments to our fellow man. Of course, this is confirmed by the teacher of the law in his response to Yeshua's answer. 32"Well said, teacher," the man replied. "You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him. 33To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices." Posted : 20 Jun, 2015 10:17 AM What he said ^^^ That's the standard broad thing though, being more precise I guess it's to set a proper example. The better man does not particularly care if others find him holy, he simply is whether anyone sees it or not. Post Reply

Posted : 25 Jun, 2015 06:46 AM Just to clarify what I think that means, we are not only to follow Jesus and try to do what He did. Judas followed Jesus. Peter denied Jesus. The christian experience is about CHANGING into a new creature, changing how you think, what you value, your whole reality from slavery and into freedom for freedoms sake! "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." "It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery." :peace::peace: Post Reply

To me the most important thing as a Christian is having a relationship with Jesus. Only by having that can people actually change. Even the enemy knows the word, and reading the word does not necessarily change a person. Like how Jesus asked his disciples in Matthew 16: "Who do men say that the son of man i am"? And they said ," Some say that thou are John the baptist: some, Elias, and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets". He saith unto them," But whom say ye that i am"? And Simon Peter answered and said," Thou are the Christ, the Son of the living God." Peter knew that because he had a relationship with God. While others saw him as something else. And when you read the bible, you see a lot of examples of people who had a close relationship with God. Like Abraham, David and Paul to name a few. We have to be like that also. I have met people who know the word cover to cover and are out there in the world committing sin. And people who used to serve and love God but turned their back on him when things did not go the way they wanted it. So that is why i believe that when can't just know God, We have to have a relationship. Just like how you have to have one when you get married, Even more so with Jesus. Because just like the word says, We are his bride! Post Reply

And that is the whole of the heart of Christ ...but as Paul also says in Philippians, "For to you it has been granted on behalf of Jesus Christ, not only to believe in Him but to suffer for His sake. Having the same conflict you saw in me and now hear is in me." I believe that if we as Christians truly love the Lord, there will be suffering And persecution. In this day as of yet, maybe not to the extent Paul had (however, I am sure that day is coming! ) but to some extent for sure. But also our selfish nature also must suffer to take on that of Christ. "For What things were gain to me, there I count as loss. Yet indeed I count all things as loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ.
