James 2:14-26

I go one company last semester doing my internship. to make short story:

when I go to site, trying to help and learn at the same time, I meet one guy. He is Chinese and he is not believer. We share story and most the time I share story how God change my life. You know what, the people inside the company like play gambling.

This Chinese guy ask me, are you gambler? so my answer is no. He ask many question, how about smoking and drinking. so all my answer is no. what a sad things is when he say many Christian also play gambling even drink alcohol. " Them also same like me. That why I cannot believe in them", he add again. I am speechless because what he say is quite true.

I don't know who many people aware about this issue. Many of us (Christian) want to spread the gospel, try to encourage people to accept Jesus but if we cannot change our attitude first, how come we can change the unbeliever view? I am not perfect Christian even I am still in process grow my faith.

Bring your attitudes into obedience to Gods Word. Apply discipline to your thought life submit your thoughts to those of Christs. A good attitude is a matter of faith, disregarding your feelings, with a determination to embrace Gods outlook and disposition.

James 2:14-26 Faith without works is dead.

Agreed. If we act no different than unbelievers, how can we expect them to see our changed lives through Christ? We should not live as carnal Christians.

so we should put on an act to fool people into believing? I'de rather just be me and let the God who started a good work in me complete it! He started it,He finishes it! Everything else is as filthy rags! People try to blame us for why they don't want to except Christ...oh if you Christians didn't act this way or that way.Thats a bunch of bull hockey! The truth is written on every man's heart. They can make up whatever stories they want but it is still thier choice and they are responsible for it!

According to what Elisha was saying...I recall the verse in 2Cor 6:17 that says -

"Therefore, COME OUT FROM THEIR MIDST AND BE SEPARATE," says the Lord. "AND DO NOT TOUCH WHAT IS UNCLEAN; And I will welcome you.(New American Standard Bible (1995)) and the translation in King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.) that reads - "Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you"...

What do you think those verses meant? Our lives from among unbelievers must be distinct. Unbelievers must clearly be able to see and spot the reason why they call us believers. It should be a clear daylight between the sides! Unbelievers must be able to say there is "something about you that is different from others"!

@CommittedtoChrist89, you made a good point. Matthew 5:16 said "Let your light so shine among men, that they may see your good works and glorify your father in heaven".
