IMODEST WOMEN WEARING MODERN CLOTHING STYLE, you probably think that this is not a big deal, but on the day of judgement you're going to have to answer for putting a stumling block for Jesus' little ones. Some men are strong, some weak. But if you would dress modesly you would not PROVOKE weak brother to stumble and commit adultery in his heart with you. Imagine that someone tries to get rid of addction to pornography and comes to Church to pray about it and sees no difference in apperance of Christian women than he saw when he wached wicked movies! You make Christianity look like a joke ! REPENT TILL IT'S NOT TO LATE . If I was a wicked painter who likes to paint naked women, I would not need you to take your clothes out because I can see your body shapes clearly with the modern clothes you wear. I would just need to pick up the colour for a skin tone. You're almost the same as naked. Post Reply

Forget about the original poster's anger for a second. If you are a Christian, do you not use discernment? What's the real issue here? The real issue is the problem of immodest dress, and depending on the kind of churches you go to, you WILL see it. Trust me, even in the South, you'll see it. So I think we can all agree that this is a problem not only in the world at large, but even in Christian circles. Often, girls don't realize the messages they are sending or that yes, God is now the boss of your body, too. Now, given that this is a problem, how best to handle it? I don't think the first guy was looking for answers on how to handle it, but was just venting about the problem and how it affects him. However, I think that what dgrimater said is right. Women should counsel other women and ideally, this should be part of the church membership class. Now do men also have a problem with wearing revealing clothes? Actually, yes. Ask a girl sometime how she feels about seeing guys who go topless and guys in muscle shirts. So we also have to take care in how we dress. Post Reply

Posted : 29 Aug, 2010 09:23 PM I think we have to be careful not to get "religious" in the way your supposed to dress to worship God...remember, "come as you are" but I KNOW when God does the transformation on the inside, the outside will also change, it changes the way we think therefore we will be more modest. I went to a church for many years and I had been going for about 2 week and I came in one sunday with a sundress on (it was summer) it wasnt revealing...I've never dressed that way even before I got saved. anyway...the pastors wife told one of the ushers to put her sweater over my shoulders. From that day on it sounds funny but i felt really exposed. I couldnt wear enough clothes and couldnt cover up enough. I went through 10 years of that and was a key leader there. That started something in me and it wasnt a good thing. I've been gone from there for a few years and never had so much freedom. yes women need to be more conservative in their dress but they wont "get it" until their mind is renewed as in Romans 12. Do you honestly believe that in the early Churches first apostles wouldn't rebuke women looking like most of Christians look today( thight clothing, exposed sexual beauty, shape)? I would like to say NOT all women know how to dress, and are not raised the way they should have been in a Godly home and by a Godly mother....to teach them...Growth takes time...That BIG OLD OAK TREE did not get there in a day. Older women are called to teach the younger women, and we are ALL called to speak the truth in Love. There is a false power in sensuality for a woman...but it is not God power it is the spirit of manipulation/witchcraft, and that spirit in the end uses women.( LOT'S of women wield this well ) trapped in there own bondage-there own prisons.* The power they have been using has used them all along* Most women in this world dress as this world-this is what the enemy works so hard through the media-advertisements, you name it. Posted : 17 Sep, 2010 09:24 AM Well, I still like to use the example of a few very modest girls I knew. Their extra modesty actually attracted the crude attention of men more than if they dressed like normal girls. So I think there is something to be said for dressing modestly, but contemporarily. I've seen women practically wearing burkas, and their husbands wearing shorts that would get girls in trouble. So personally...I think there is a lot of double-standardizing going around. And I don't think men are any more visual than women. Girls are the ones that fawn over movie stars. Maybe men should be wearing veils/sunglasses/long sweaters/gloves all the time so women can't see faces/eyes/torso/arms/butt/hands/. :peace::peace: Post Reply

Posted : 17 Sep, 2010 11:48 AM I agree people often take things *Way over the top* There is a balance in all things...even Christ walked that balance of word and works...we are to follow his example. He laid the very foundation, and called us to follow..If it was not available to do he would not have in-trusted us with it, or called us to do it. The relationship with him is PURE and HOLY...once born again we posses holiness..we should strive to walk in it. Anything outside of that is against our very nature. Our temple/body should be HOLY to look upon. Fawning ?... for sure--to bad we are not fawning, and falling all over for Christ. I do not own a TV-Praise the Lord..I refuse to sift through the trash to find something decent to watch..while my eye and ear gates battle ... Trust me I was not always this way-but the Lord did something in me and no words I have could express the fire I feel inside ..it is the coolest thing I have ever felt..and it just keeps growing...I never wish to go back to the old me. The word says WHEN YOU seek ME with your WHOLE heart you shall find me!! What a treasure I have found in Jesus And as far as crude goes well there will always be pigs in the parlor(devils)-we have been given spiritual authority and armor for that When our Lord returns, may we be found faithful and clothed in honor!:purpleangel: Post Reply
