View Profile History	To Smoke Or Not To Smoke? Posted : 5 Sep, 2009 07:03 AM Heres my two cents;) Smoking is an addiction to nicotine. There are some who are addicted to pornography, drinking or even glutony. These things are easy to fall into. I smoked for 15 years, it helped soothe my nerves I thought but I was dependant on it actually. Twelve years ago my lungs collapsed and I almost died. There were other factors that contributed to the illness but the doctors said my lungs were like celophane left out in the sun. Needless to say, I couldnt smoke any more. God took away every desire for smoking and I'm so greatful. What I wanted to share was that if God is doing a work in our lives, eventually the desire will be dealt with. Likewise other issues in our lives. I would be wary of people that say it is ok because its a compromise. Makes you wonder where else do they compromise. (Just a thought) All in all, we all have something we're trying to give up or stop falling into whether it's office gossip or some addiction. I know prayer works, keep praying for your friend.
