Surrendering to someone else's control.

God's not in that . We can be humble without submission.

Now I answered!

Thank you, Moonlight. I appreciate your answer.

I agree that that surrendering one self to the control of another is not godly. The Bible says that we are supposed to have self-control. How can we have self-control if we allow someone else to control us?

I don't agree, however, that that is what submission is. I believe that submission is thinking of others before yourself. Like when Jesus was arrested. He could have chosen to not be, like the other time that the crowd tried to grab so that they could stone him to death. But, he didn't. He chose to submit. The fact that he submitted, doesn't mean that he wasn't in control, though. He absolutely was.

CountyIvy, there is no topic save Jesus Christ and Him crucified, just because you have many topics does not mean there are different ones.

1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

The teachings of the Lords commandments and right ways is submission, there is no other if you look and if you saw, we submit to every ordinance for the Lords sake, we resist the devil and we submit to God, and now imagine how much correction there will be to people soon when all knees bow to Christ and confess their every idle word..

Matthew 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

James 1:19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

1 Peter 2:13 Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;

we do not have self control, we have Christ for that, and anyone without Him leading them is in darkness stumbling..

Proverbs 4:11 I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.

12 When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble.

Jeremiah 10:23 O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.

Psalm 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.

Proverbs 16:9 A man's heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps.

The unguided, unled wicked have self control, they in darkness stumble and do not even know what they are stumbling at..

Proverbs 4:19 The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.

John 11:9 Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.

John 11:10 But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him.

Christians should relate to biblical meaning of things.

Too many go but what the WORLD says and the Webster

dictionary of done other book or person.

It's called agreeing with the World's view.

Ivy, once again you must establish a specific context if you have one in mind.

Are you asking about a specific extra-biblical scenario in which a form of submission takes place or are you asking about a particular biblical application of submission ?

One example of submission—a prisoner submits to a prison guard by following an order to return to his prison cell.

Another example of submission—the church is to submit to Christ.

As for the question posed in your thread, I’m not sure if you’re asking for a range of applications or for a specific one

Submitting to Christ. Submitting to His saving grace. Submitting to His loving you, cherishing you, and nourishing you. Submitting to Him being the One who brings you salvation instead of trying to get it yourself. Submitting to serve Him because why wouldn't you want to do so when He gave His life to save you?
