Standards of conduct.

Does anyone even try to hold themselves to a higher standard anymore? I look around at all the Christians, myself included, and you can't really tell the difference in them and the world. I know there are some, and to those few, I say Praise God. But overall, I don't see where we are any different than the world.

How are we supposed to win over the unsaved, if we are just like them? I hear preachers say, we are exactly the same as them, we are just saved. That is a lie straight out of h3ll. We are called out of the world into holiness.

God will not do this for us, it is our responsibility. God commanded us, Be ye Holy, for I am Holy. If He was going to do it, He would have no reason to even talk about it.

Is it any wonder that we all have the reputation of being hypocrites? What else are people to think? We say one thing and do another, what would you call it? Think about the way you act at church, is this the way you act all week? If not, that makes you a hypocrite. What the world says of us is true, now...what are we going o do about it?

Food for thought,

Leon

P.S. I know this does not apply to everyone, but it does to most of us. Even if only partially.

The words indicated in Bold are censored from the CDFF Forum:

Agreed with much that's been said, (I apologize in advance if any of this doesn't make sense, I'm not the best at articulating the words of speech/writing into meaningful anything, ) A lot of how we act stems from is where our fear lies, I mean, we can be doing some amazing stuff 'for Christ' but really for our fear of man. I'll be honest the quite often the work I do with the church is for my own reputation. Proverbs 29:25 The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is safe. As well Idolatry is a major player in this, this is one thing we in the western world probably don't speak enough on, because somethings not obviously bad we'll dismiss the unhealthy amount of time we spend on these things, be it television, computers, sports, food. You could go on and on, man, even relationships. I know I've done it, I've coveted relationships, and marriages, watched a movie with a great happy ending and just thinking, I sooo want that. Not out of a Godly desire, but just because I was selfish, (some of you guys/gals addicted to 'chick flicks', seriously, that's unhealthy, it can be just as unhealthy as porn depending on where your heart is at.) the examples just continue. as far as refraining from sin, personally I find that when I'm studying my bible more, and feeling closer to God, it's easier. but when my sin is just owning me and I'm just in the monotonous day to day blahs, then I really stink. but when we're focusing like in Eph 5:15-21 and Colossians 3:12-17 would have us, and there are so many more examples, It will be easier to act out our walk as the Holy Spirit enables us.
