Admin	food for thought Posted : 2 Feb, 2010 08:43 AM In my class at school is a young woman.We were to excange are rough drafts to read andgive grammer advice.Her's was called "coming out". It was a confession of why she was gay. I read this and looked at her and knew she was a very unhappy person. I had not noticed her before in class. I wonder what chance I could get to tell her about Jesus. I must be carefull as I have never delt with a gay person close up. Post Reply

Some how get her interested and then maybe point the discussion to the area of scripture where she can see for herself what the scriptures say. Just an idea! Post Reply
View Profile History	food for thought Posted : 2 Feb, 2010 04:37 PM dear dennis, i would advise that you seek God before you try to "push" him onto some unsuspecting person. most times we take witnessing into our own hands and push people further away for God as they were already. sometimes we get opportunity to witness, but we should never try to create it because it is only the holy spirit that converts persons by touching their hearts. God does not act on our command we act on his, he is in control and we must seek his will and direction in everything we do. (imo) Nyanda Post Reply

Just because you don't hearr a voice like thunder doesn't mean He's nor speaking. However, I would say that God has placed you as a "light" in a dark place, the "salt" for the rest of the world, maybe even in that classroom setting. I would just be friendly and say hello, and offer uplifting conversation to make her smile maybe. If she speaks back, she may be led to ask you something. Perhaps with that, maybe that will lead just to some kind of casual comfortable conversation about other things, and maybe if it's God's will, He'll give you an open door for you to share who you are in Christ. She may be inspired to start asking you questions. We just never know. Something pricked your heart because you saw not just unhappiness but probably some pain too. Allow yourself to be open for God when and if He allows you to be that open door to Christ for her. ~ GraceMae Post Reply

Sometimes you can be a witness to someone without even realizing it. Just by the way you live your life, makes decisions, treat others, etc. Just something to think about. I've known at least two dozen "gay" people. People is the operative word, even though gay is how we judge them. Just love her, God will take care of the rest should he choose. What's neat is that after a while, people will start to ask you "What is it that's different about you? I can't place it..." Then you can talk about God, but most people are tired of being approached by folks about Christ. And I'm also gonna take a stab in the dark here, but I think chances are you've known or known someone who's gay. It's only now that it's becoming easier and more socially acceptable for them to "come out." Just my opinion, let us know what happens!!! And best of luck bro!! Post Reply

I will tell you what has worked for me and has been a stronger witness than anything else. It may work for you also. I loved them like Jesus would have, and I treated them just exactly the same way as I did everyone else. Pray and seek. God will help you do the right thing. Post Reply

I was just curious if you read her confession and put together yourself if she felt those were the reasons to get others to understand how she accepted she was gay? Or if she was seeking advise "help"? Alot of times no one seeks to be preached at in cases as being in sin. Some may take it as a judge mental abuse and that they should see it as the other perosn is offering important information of how they are only trying to bring them to the truthful understanding. Everything relies on how you use the message.She may be seeking acceptance and closeness to relating to someone who she knows may can help her. This is a tough situation a Christian can be in.Some of us Christian have been marked as critical and judmental to a sinner in sin and that makes the darkness that is in sin not want to be in the light.
