So. . . if you had $10 in your pocket (or your purse), what kind of date would you plan? It can be silly, serious, romantic, playful. . . whatever sounds good to you!

A round of mini-golf

A picnic

A walk on the boardwalk with ice-cream cones

The arcade

Enjoying a couple of floats at the local DQ

The daytime cinema (usually cheaper that night)

Window shopping at the mall including the photo booth

Browsing fleamarkets or yard sales together

A trip to the local pet store or Humane Society

Volunteer together to serve dinner at the local homeless shelter

Just a few off the top of my head, there's plenty more you can do, though

A few more...

Make a collage or scrap book of your favorite photos together

Go to the local library and look over their video selection (some libraries work with other branches and let you preorder a specific title). Then go to the drive-thru at a local fast-food joint and get two meals to take home.

Catch fireflies together

Many local communities put on outdoor movies, usually for free

Go bike riding or hiking

Enjoy a sunset together

Attend church together

Attend an open house

For $10, we could spend the day at a nice local park. $10 would probably cover the park fees, and if we packed a lunch at home, we wouldn't need to buy much in the way of additional food and drinks. Once in the park, we would have access to miles of hiking trails and a lake with a beach. Or, at a different park, we would have access to trails, a covered bridge, and a river with lots of rocks to climb on.

Yep, those would make great summer dates for less than $10!

We could go for a hundred mile motorcycle ride.

We could go to Piedmont Park.

We could go to the Redbox and get a movie to watch.

We could go grocery shopping, buy the ingredients for dinner, then make it together.

We could go to the thrift store and pick out something ridiculous for the other.
